So we made it through. Lots of damage around the island no lives lost.. clean up process has begun. Schools are closed tomorrow. Government office will open.
This link has some images. Apparently Jerry is headed our way Tuesday.. that's less than a week away :(
My avocado crop was all over the ground this morning. Been giving them away in bags full. The picture shows the last 3rd... I had a broken window first time ever in 23 years at this house.. all fixable so grateful for all the blessing we still have. The power came on this afternoon but there is a water issue.. so no shower yet but I can sleep in the cool.. it's still a win!! Grateful and blessed!!

Currently, it is quiet. We have had the odd gust and a few heavy showers. There was a lightning show in the wee hours this morning. Most places seem to be boarded up and ready. The government offices and school closed down at midday. I am in the bit of a valley so have only had a few strong burts of wind. The birds are mostly quiet .. a sure sign some weather is coming. If the treefrogs are quiet at dusk then we know we will be in for a blow.
My avocado tree has a bumper crop on it but not yet ready to pick. I am hoping some are stuck on with super glue.

The storm still looks to have the centre passing between us and the USA coast.  Praying there are no major surprises

Will check in as I am able.

Hello its been  a long time since I have posted. I am currently vacationing in Barbados. I usually correspond from Bermuda. Tropical storms and hurricanes hits are very unusual for Barbados.. Janet was last major one in 1979.  Currently folks are getting last minute errands done. The wind is still fairly mild where I am on the island which is on the Western side of the island. I am used to Bermuda building code for these storms so hoping that Barbados comes through with no major issues. My daughter and I are going to ride it out with friends a little further inland. We have traditional storm punch ( Bermuda rum swizzle :)) included in our storm prep kit.  I will try and keep you updated as it looks from where we will be stationed.
Be safe Barbados!!
