I am trying to compile info on relief efforts and where to donate. I like to list local organizations. If you know of any, let me know, esp. those that support Carriacou, and the Grenadines, like Petite Martinique, Petit St. Vincent, Union Island, Palm Island, Canouan, and others. I can not be sure if all of them are legit, esp. the GoFundMe ones. If you think I should delist one let me know! - Gert

Charity Navigator reviews and rates charities and they have already compiled a list of agencies providing emergency aid. (from: Bob Howell).

Subject: St Vincent - Southern Grenadines

Beryl devastated the Southern Grenadines, in Canouan the large majority of houses built in wood have been entirely wiped out, the large  majority of concrete block house have lost the roof. The majority of the electrical posts have fallen or are severely damaged. It was impossible to communicate to outside the island for many days after the storm.
The day after the hurricane, another weather system affected the island, pouring rain for many hours.
It will take many months before life on the island can return similar to normal.
Until then assistance is needed.
The fund below is especially targeted to help residents of Canouan, providing supplies and assistance directly to the teams of residents on the ground actively dedicated to the relief effort and support to the community.
Any donation would be appreciated
Best regards,

Lou

Received via my sister-in-law who lived on Grenada and St.Maarten:
Our hearts and thoughts go out to all our turtle family affected by Hurricane Beryl throughout Barbados, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Jamaica. Sadly, the most severely impacted were the smallest of the islands, Carriacou, Petite Martinique, Union, Mayreau and Canouan.
This devastating hurricane has caused significant disruption and damage, and we stand in unity with all those impacted. Thankfully we have heard now either directly or indirectly from all our turtle family and know that they are all safe.
If you are looking for a way to help, please consider donating directly to organizations on the ground in each country.
Barbados – Barbados Sea Turtle Project
Grenada – Ocean Spirits https://gofund.me/14f2894c or KIDO via WIDECAST donate
SVG – Union Island Environmental Alliance via WIDECAST donate or Union Island population recover from the Hurricane https://gofund.me/f48db1c4
Alternatively, you can donate to WIDECAST https://www.widecast.org/support-us/donate/ and funds will be distributed to those most in need.
Together, we can make a positive impact and help rebuild these beautiful islands.

Hello,

There is a lot of information compiled here from a reputable source - the Doyle Cruising guides - on where to donate to Carriacou and Petite Martinique and the Grenadine islands. This might be a good location to point people to :

Thanks for all your work over the years!

Andre
