Good Morning, The rain has stopped in Vieques and the sun peeked out for a moment. Cloudy skies have returned. We are soggy but very lucky. The Mayor of Vieques posted on FB that they cannot energize the power line from Naguabo (Main Island) to Vieques. Today, Monday, PREPA personnel are arriving to turn on the island generator. Ferry service to the main island is still suspended. Internet and cell phone service is an issue for many folks. The torrential rains continue on Main Island. The southeast and the mountains are inundated and more rain is on the way. The photos and reports of damage are terrible. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with them. Good Evening,
Vieques was spared the terrible winds. Radar is currently out of service so we don't know how much longer this will last. Main Island was hit hard and the rain continues. The damage reports are truly horrible. Please keep them in your thoughts. All of Puerto Rico is in the dark tonight.

Good Morning,
The power is out on Vieques. We are experiencing rain and gusting winds in Pilon. A couple of tree tops have snapped but no trees down other than a flimsy bananna. Last check the cameras in Esperanza showed the bay was kicking up. Off to curl up with a good book.

Grey, cloudy day here in Vieques. It is super calm in Esperanza Bay. Up here in Pilon there is a breeze with a couple of guests. Fiona's track shifted further east and is supposed to make landfall in Puerto Rico near Ponce. We are going to receive rain. Demasiado lluvia. Below are pictures of Esperanza Bay and the view from Pilon to main island. The Ferro in Fajardo is on the right and Ceiba is on the far left. Looking forward to seeing the lights turn on over there tonight. Who knows of they will turn on tomorrow night... Off to pour a glass of vino. K

Sunny day here in Esperanza although I hear thunder booming in the distance. Looks like Fiona is going south of La Isla Nena. We will receive rain (good for the garden) and a bit of wind. The million dollar question is "Will the power stay on?". Confidence is low. I will keep you posted as weather and electrical grid events progress.

At long last it is raining in Vieques. The forecasters said it would start at sunrise and so it did. The horses, people, cows, gardens and birds are very grateful! The rain will last tonight into tomorrow and "green up" the island a bit. Off to enjoy a spectacular gray, rainy day! K
