But there are two more weather systems following Sam. One mid Atlantic
and the other just leaving Africa,
I will keep an eye on them.

The weather system (95L) is over half way across the Atlantic. The
latest I have is that it is at 44W 11.8N . The predicted path shows it
passing close to the most northerly of the Lesser Antilles. Also most
models don't seem to have it getting to hurricane strength. So (hope) it
appears that Grenada should be OK from this storm.
There is another system Near the Cabo Verdes. But it appears this will
just go North into the Atlantic.

The low pressure that I mentioned yesterday has now left the coast of
East Africa. Currently it as at about 12 degs N - (the same as
Grenada). Looking at the current predicted path it should move north
of the island chain, but it needs watching. If by Friday it is at about
18N then it is following the predicted path.

There is a 80% chance of a system coming off of East Africa developing
into something in the next 5 days. Much too early to get a real idea
where it will head but NHC has it coming across the Atlantic with just a
slight movement towards the North.
More over the net few days.

Sorry for lack of posts this year. Just to let you know that I am
keeping an eye on the weather.
The temperature at Cambridge airport in the UK is exactly the same as
that in Grenada (airport)!!! And it is September! 30C/86F at 1300 UTC.
Currently there are no predicted storms in the Atlantic that should
affect Grenada, although there is a Low pressure just SSW of the Cabo
Verde islands.
Trying times in Grenada with Covid, let's hope the weather behaves.

As it passed through Barbados it upgraded to a cat 1. Now heading for
North of St Vincent (using the latest NHC directions).
Heavy rain here as I type, rain coming from a westerly direction, but
only a slight breeze from same.
It still looks as if we will not get very high winds (my feeling), but
could get plenty of rain.

Good morning,
No breeze here in southern part of Grenada!
Elsa - still a Tropical Storm. And just approaching Barbados. It
does look as if it will pass over the Southern part of that
island. Looking at it's path since last night and if it keeps that
direction, it will pass between St Vincent and St Lucia, with St
Lucia getting the stronger winds. This is all based on the NHC
data, other websites still have the storm passing slightly further
south (through the Grenadines ).
The current Barbados weather radar shows quite clearly the centre
of the storm just off to the SE of Barbados. It also shows very
clearly the difference between the speed of the rain showers north
(fast) of the storm centre and south (slow). Confirming that it
is better to be south rather than north of these storms. Barbados

The same radar shows a band of rain associated with Elsa
approaching Grenada as I send this.
So my guess is we will not get strong winds, currently hardly a
breeze. Later we will pick up wind from the west, but not too
strong (hope). I expect a fair amount of showers though.

It currently appears that Elsa will pass through the Grenadines (if
current path continues). If this is correct, then we should expect the
wind to turn to westerlies tomorrow morning. Wrong way winds. There
could be a lot of rain with Elsa. Expect to feel the effects tomorrow
morning into the afternoon. Elsa is fast moving, currently at about 28
mph. So it should pass through fairly fast.

Good morning all,
Overnight, 97L jumped to Tropical Storm strength. Now the first named
storm, in our area. this year.
It's predicted path has moved slightly further south over night. It
still looks as if it will pass slightly north of us, between Grenada and
St Vincent, but there is still a day to go and plenty of time to decide
on a different route. Some of last year's hurricanes showed us that.
NHC appear to show the centre of the storm passing about midday Friday,
still as a Tropical Storm.
I will send another update this afternoon.

Good morning from an overcast and showery Grenada.
We now have two weather systems approaching the Caribbean.
Invest 95L is now at 13.2N 64.9W It looks as if this will pass just
north of Barbados iover the next 24 hours..
More worrying for Grenada is 97L currently about 8.6N 39.3W. This is at
a very low latitude (8.6N). Looking at various websites it does look as
if it will pass near to us in Grenada as a Tropical Storm or maybe even
a Cat 1 hurricane, Friday/Saturday.

- 95L mid Atlantic heading towards the Caribbean

This is the first post from me for some time. It now looks as if the
Atlantic conveyor is starting up. For a few days I have been monitoring
a tropical wave that came off of East Africa at a very low latitude. It
is now midway across the Atlantic and the centre of the weather system
is at 39.5degrees West and 11.7 degs North and travelling at about 20mph
in our general direction. As far as I can see, looking at the various
websites, it looks as if it should pass just north of Barbados as a
tropical storm in about 3 days. If this is the case we should be OK in
Grenada (hope). I will update daily until it has cleared.
This is the first system coming across the Atlantic that at least looks
like developing to some extent. This should be a warning to us to be
prepared for the coming season. make sure you have some hurricane
supplies and check that there is nothing that can be picked up by strong
winds.
