Greetings from Antigua, my first Caribbean island home. I have been on island
and am impressed with the weather. Winds are really strong, sometimes, gusting
over 30. Intermittent rain showers have prevailed the 10 days I have been
visiting. Barbuda, much the same. It was hard to get fish and lobster as many
of the boats cannot get out.
We saw Super Yacht Races this past week. They had some nice winds for racing
The lovely Lisa Nicholson joined us and gave us a lovely overview of her island
history. So special to be at Shirley Heights, watching the races.
I am seeking a house swap; your island home for my Cape Cod Cottage (with a
beach jeep and Gus the Cat). S

This morning Friday we now have hurricane Sam on our doorstep. Hopefully 🙏
the north turn will start soon but we need to be ready !! If the north turn
does not happen it is over us!

Reporting for STORM CARIB from Antigua …..
We are watching Tropical Storm GRACE coming our way moving quickly at 22 mph… with estimates to be as close as 14 miles to our SOUTH around 6 am tomorrow SUNDAY morning...… There is a chance she could take a north turn and spare us of her tropical storm winds predicted to be up to 50 MPH with gusts up to 65 mph… Keep safe all ….. as always Thanks to Gert and Dave of STORM CARIB for all the work to bring us the info they provide and www.stormcarib.com . |

The hurricane is staying south of Antigua. We are getting wind but no rain so
far. Spoke to Barbados family and they are doing fine so far. My heart goes
out to St Vincent as they have faced much with the volcano eruptions recently!

It is EARLY in the Hurricane Season (official start was June 1st) … ... but already TROPICAL STORM ELSA has been officially named in the 2 AM advisory and is heading towards the Windwards and Southern Leewards and eventually north. The path below is a wide one but most models put it more SOUTH. However as we all know in WEATHER WATCHING we should be on alert and prepared with our “hurricane readiness” with this hurricane season being an active one. Advisories have been issued for islands to the south but we are paying attention also.  |

We are watching these VERY EARLY SYSTEMS coming off the African Coast. Barbados had a very unexpected bad weather experience last weekend and people on really on alert there as many were caught off guard. All the experts are expecting a very active season so we are on alert very early this season. It feels quite HOT already ! Staying alert.

NOT SO NICE TO READ THAT every one including GERT ON our STORM CARIB site and Dale Westin here in Antigua are all taking about a VERY ACTIVE STORM season !
Not a nice thing but reality is…. so getting prepared early is the goal! Checking on my hurricane shutters and other supplies already. Dale C. S. Destin | The numbers for this hurricane season are likely to be very high once again. My updated forecast for the 2021 Season is out, and it continues to call for an above normal season being likely. The confidence of an above normal season has grown from 69 to 78 |
