Heavy rains and strong winds being experienced in Grand Cayman this morning. Reports of power outages in some areas due to light poles being down and flooding in some areas. Also reports of trees down in some areas. Will try to keep you updated.

Now that the center has passed, the wind has diminished slightly, coming in
bands. Power still out in many areas and flooding in low lying places. Not
over yet here, Cuba will feel this soon. Stay safe everyone.

Strong horizontal rain and wind. We still have power in West Bay, other areas are without power. Electric poles down, lots of streets flooding, vegetation uprooted and blowing. The tornado that touched down in Savannah took the roof off of a Wendys restaurant. Storm center not due to arrive for a couple more hours. Going to be interesting. Stay safe everyone, this storm is real. Sorry for all the lives lost already. Take this serious. It is 2020 remember.

Bodden Town had a fairly quiet night. There were no rumbles of thunder and very
little, if any rain.

The wind gusts have been occasional and not more than 15 or 20 miles an hour I
would estimate. Rain has been in brief showers rather than continuous
(tropical) downpours.

My little digital barometer has been registering pressures of anything from
1000.7 to 1002.0 and seems to fluctuate. The reading change every five minutes
or so!

We will wait and see how the day turns out but so far, at least hereabouts,
all’s well.

Our house is located in Red Bay, near George Town. We have had a very quiet night. Low to no wind and a slow drizzle but no major rain.
One source has updated that we will feel the storm's impact at 7 a.m.
Our biggest concern is flooding in low lying areas - and we are in one of them. The Loop Cayman story has the clearest update for us: Hurricane Delta intensifying over the Caribbean sea; 85 mph winds

Our flooding concerns are intensified   because we are already flooded from previous storms!
We do have a robust hurricane plan as a country: Delta Update 2

All prepped, so now we sit this one out.

Hi All - I’m in GT and the trees and air have been very still, up until now.
Slow movement of tree leaves outside now. Stay safe everyone.

- Storm 26

Bodden Town, Grand Cayman, 22:30.

We have had three or four days of periods of HEAVY rain with squally winds.
This was associated with what has become Tropical Storm Gamma.

This morning, this system’s clouds and rain moved off, away from our islands.
Early today there were outbreaks of heavy rain alternating with bright sunshine.

This afternoon was clear and sunny with calm winds. Currently, at 22:23, my
electronic barometer reads 1006.4 mb, though it was lower by 2 mb a few days
ago.

We have been told that our islands are in a Tropical Storm ‘Watch’ with things
expected to become more ‘interesting’ around 13:00 tomorrow, Monday.

Schools will be closed for the following two days.

CI Government announced all schools will be closed tomorrow and Tuesday. They urged all people that can work from home to do so. Our shop will be open only long enough to secure all the vehicles and then close. TS force winds expected to start arriving by 2:00 p.m.

We have a few things left to secure here in West Bay but pretty much ready. More tomorrow as we monitor the situation. Stay safe everyone!
John

Some folks decided to not move their boats. Wrong decision. Latest word is 5 on
the beach and one upside down on her mooring, although not confirmed. Will head
out shortly and investigate.

Be smart people.
