Being under the strictest lockdown in the U.K. we have at the moment, my heart
and soul drift towards Anguilla, here is a pic of my little house under the
full moon in lockdown too, and waiting patiently for my return (who knows when
at the moment).
As for hurricanes we had one here last week but only called Storm Bella, winds
here over 70MPH, but in the south they clocked gusts of 106MPH. along with
freezing temps and snow and ice.
My kind neighbour on the Searocks said Christmas Day was windy and rainy, so I
guess the Christmas winds are blowing.
I wish Gert and Dave and all co-correspondents a healthy happy and better 2021.

Good Evening to All,
Today is the official end of the hurricane season, I do hope so but in this
strange year we all need to stay alert for anything.
In an effort to try and get myself into a sort of Christmas Spirit during
lockdown I have decorated a little tree, even though I and small brown dog are
the only ones allowed to admire it.
Please everyone look forward and stay positive wherever you are and pray that
the future will be better ( especially for the people of Central America who
have recently had such a hard time with Eta and Iota).

Good Evening to Everyone,
As far as I know all is well in Anguilla, the island is green, the wild
Frangipani and yellow Pride of Barbados are in full bloom. I am just posting to
say please admire the Blue Moon this Eve of All Saints Day.
Here in The English Lake District we have been going through the remnants of
hurricane Epsilon my river is in spate, temp is 41F wind is 50 to 60 MPH with
gusts over 70MPH, tomorrow we are getting remnants of hurricane Zeta with more
of the same.

I haven’t posted for a while having been trying to live with the appalling
conditions of the coronavirus in the English Lake District. I would like to
make a couple of comments though.
Anguilla is VERY hot still, there has been good on and off rain and the Island
is green and plants are happy.
Congratulations to Dave on marrying the love of his life, and much gratitude to
him for all his insights, reports and comments.
Well done Jane Higgins (St. Thomas) for getting Stormcarib on BBC Future,
interesting article.
Huge thank you to Gert for the website.
Lastly thankful both Steve Donahue and I (both Special ‘D’ Divers) are still
around to report for Anguilla.

Certainly not the rain maker we were all hoping for but perhaps from one more “blob” still out to our east. Winds NE avg. 15-20, gust of 42 mph around 8:30 but mostly gusting 26-32 mph. Only 0.21 in. of rain. Bar falling since 10:30 – now 1006.2 mb (storm is 1005 mb) so pretty close. Steve Donahue tainos at anguillanet.com |

Looks like any chance of rain has passed us by. Currently due south of us. Had 0.01 in. rain late last night, none since. Gusty winds ENE maybe 10 – 15 mph, gust of 29 mph around 8:00. Bar was 1007.8 mb earlier, now rising at 1008.2 (storm is 1005 mb). No rain is disappointing. Steve Donahue tainos at anguillanet.com |

Can’t even see Scrub Island and no horizon for 2 days. Never seen it so bad.
Stay safe everyone and maybe wear a mask, not just for Corona.

Good Morning All, We begin again, First of June 2020. I wish a safe and gentle trip through both the Corona Virus and coming hurricane season to everyone. We have had 1 inch of rain here in Anguilla on The Searocks in the last month, this has been mainly due to a mega thunder and lightening storm the night of 27th May, which also dropped .82 of an inch. Very welcome. The island is still extremely hot, has been in the early 90's a couple of times in the last few weeks and diving the other day the ocean temp was 84F at 70ft on the north Atlantic side, unusual for this time of year in Anguilla, more like August/September weather. There have been more sightings of whales this year, especially around Sombrero. and I have seen them in the distance, while self isolating, from the porch, breaching and blowing as they go by. They were a lot more liberated than I. My thanks again to Gert and Dave for all their hard work and information. JH Searocks

Still no rain on the horizon , though I did notice a white powder puff blob
coming off the African coast ?? I attach also a pic of the Neem tree in full
bloom, a wonderful scent coming from it as well , almost like jasmine. A safe

A late afternoon to you all,
I hope all are safe and well during this extraordinary and tragic time.
We have had .21 of an inch of rain on the Searocks during April, it is dry dry
dry. The golden lining of this is no clouds in the sky and stunning sunsets
almost every evening (see pic).
At present we are corona free, our 3 cases have recovered. So some on island
activities have been relaxed (can now play friendly tennis and 4 people can
have dinner on the gallery, self distancing). However, we are still on very
strict border controls, no planes, no boats except for licensed fishermen on
the north side, and planes and patrol boats monitoring our coast line every 5
hours or so. Nobody in or out. I am very impressed with the Anguilla Government.
I was fascinated by the ‘no shadow ‘ from my fellow correspondents but of
course missed it by about 15 minutes here in Anguilla. Murphy’s law!! I did,
however, see the Southern Cross the other evening low on the horizon east of
St. Martin, a very inspiring sight (please correct me if I am wrong anyone).

Hello to all, and hope you are safe and well. Still on lock down in Anguilla and probably for the foreseeable future. We have 3 cases here. The rainfall on the Searocks for March was 2.80 inches, but none for the last week and things are starting to dry up quite quickly. Current temp is 80F inside and very little breeze.
