Cheers Anguilla delivered absolutely perfect weather. Glorious sunshine, warm temperatures, and light to moderate winds made every day feel effortless and relaxing. Simply put, it does not get better than this. Love Anguilla. Shout out to Roti Hut for great roti and Gumbsie Car Rental for being the coolest car rental ever.

Happy Festive Season
Wow, the waves on Mead’s Bay were big yesterday. I’m accustomed to rough surf, having grown up body and windsurfing on Cape Cod and Nantucket from a young age, and I’m always careful and mindful of rip currents. Seeing a few swimmers near Leon’s and Blanchard’s Beach Shack, I decided to go in.
Getting in and out was challenging due to the timing of the waves, but it was invigorating. An older woman entered the water easily, but when she was leaving, I offered to help. She initially declined, but ended up having a very difficult time getting out, even with my assistance. She kept getting knocked down, and I did as well while trying to help her regain her footing. Strangely, no one on shore offered assistance.
I eventually managed to get her out safely. I strongly recommend that swimmers head to Rendezvous Bay instead for a dip under these conditions. Warmest wishes for a season filled with light, kindness, and togetherness Ann Phelan Blue Seas Concierge

Happy Festive Season
The weather has been glorious these past few days, light winds throughout, with only the occasional passing shower. Seas at Mead’s Bay were rough until yesterday, while Shoal Bay East carried a bit of a swell as well. In contrast, Rendezvous Bay has remained calm, almost like bathwater.
The airport is currently packed with private jets, yet from my observations, the island itself doesn’t feel overly busy. Cheers from the Island of 33 Beaches! Wishing you all a calm and joyful holiday

Yes. 30 years ago! That takes me back. In 1995, hardly anyone in Anguilla had internet. (When it came, it was dial-up for a few years. Remember dial-up? We loved it.) The Weather Channel was on local Cable TV and we always tuned into it, at this time of the year, because it had a segment, at 8 minutes to the hour, called "Tracking The Tropics". As Roy says, most of that was focused on any impact hitting the US, so a weak Tropical Storm moving some sand around on the Outer Banks of North Carolina was going to get more screen time than a monster hurricane bearing down on the Lesser Antilles. Good morning Everyone,
We had torrential rain and winds at 24-27 mph overnight consistently - good for our plants and foliage! This, plus thundering and lighting from Erin's tail end as she departed. She really took her time leaving. The clouds are slowing clearing out - a quick
hard downpour this morning - just now. I have enjoyed the cool breeze from her winds. Anguilla was truly spared Erin's wrath! Forever grateful!
Hopefully, all in her path will fare well.

UPDATE - Erin is now departing... her tail end is full of water. Anguilla is receiving well needed sporadic rain with moderate winds at 22 mph.

Good Evening All, Gert asked me to report on Stormcarib re. Hurricane Erin. Am at present basking in a very unusual heatwave (mid 80’s +) in the English Lake District. I have, however, just talked to 3 friends in Anguilla who all said the same thing. Light rain, winds about 20MPH with occasional higher gusts, bit of thunder and lightning but not much to speak of, and all is OK, Erin is moving away north/northweat. Thanks for reaching out. For Anguilla, we had sporaidic downpours and wind overnight, some thundering and lighting too. But only light rain and winds this morning up to now. I realize Erin's eye is passing over us now with no effect except light wind...
the sea is getting much rougher, as expected. As you said, we truly dodged a bullet and we are truly grateful!
Now, the wind is at 15 mph and expected to pick up to about 18 mph. No rain at all for now. I will be expecting whatever will come with the tail end of the storm and update.
So appreciative of you and Dave's wonderful reporting. It is always dependable and accurate.
