Tortola and Virgin Gorda (BVI) Update

Special weather disturbance and winter soltice in the Virgin Islands

Hurricane season was officially over November 30th. Did Mother Nature get that memo?

A small low pressure system located about 50  miles east of Barbados is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorms. It's moving towards the west-northwest at 10-15mph.  This could cause enhanced rainfall and winds, across portions of the windward islands today.

oops!  I forgot to alert my readers to the full moon, the lunar eclipse and Winter solstice. I fell asleep before the lunar eclipse last night, dang it. Me bad!  I  still be on island time; late for everything!

Winter officially begins at 638pm today. Yes, today is the shortest day of the year. Sunlight will slowly increase each day now.

Beware of the Christmas winds coming our way!  When in doubt, reef the sails.  If you think you might need to reef, then you do. I have many fond and not so fond memories of sleigh riding the waves on a small sailboat, with stiff Christmas winds.
