Tortola and Virgin Gorda (BVI) Update

The Bees Be With Me On Tortola & Mermaid in a Garden

No chance of freezing, and no hurricanes on the horizon. All is well and weather is gorgeous.    The pic below was supplied by the Mermaid Gardener:

One day when my friend sent pics we used on the blog here, I referred to her as the East End Correspondent, a dry boring name...  but I was in a hurry (shame on me!)  Now that she is more often on Tortola and helping LOTS with local weather reports while I am on walkabout, it's high time to give her a proper name; Mermaid Gardener.

So here's her next report under her new name MERMAID GARDENER:

Yep there is a colony of bees that decided that they really like my
home and are making it their home. I noticed one bee (one little teeny tiny itsy bitty bee) earlier in the  day as I was making Blood Orange Marmalade, but didn't think anything  about it.  But guess the queen decided she liked the view. Then pretty soon the swarm followed!

I've vacated the  kitchen even though I have mangos sitting on the stove waiting to be  made into jam, Called the exterminator in a frantic state, he told me
leave the house,  they will settle down & I'll call you back in an  hour....great!

So much for mango jam and making dinner at home, guess
I'll be going out tonight!!

Ah the island life!

Maybe I'll get some  tropical honey out of this ordeal! At the very least get them out of  my house to go live else where in paradise!

I might love gardening  and know the value of bees but this is crazy!

Oh my gosh, you DO have bees!  Maybe we be naming you dat Crazy BeeKeeper now instead of Mermaid Gardener!  They must LOVE your flowers.   Which local honey is very healthy for you, it helps promote and strengthen your immunity to local allergens. I keep collecting up honey it seems, as I move around, and buy the latest local honey.

And now:
MESSAGE IN A WINE BOTTLE:
Dear Miss Mermaid,
Don't get your mermaid tail  all in a twitter up in the states. Come back soon.
By the way is this you hanging out at Penns Landing Marina in Tortola?
WOWIE!  A statue in my honor!  Yep, that looks like me!

Keep those Mermaid pics coming (Dear Miss Mermaid collects pictures of Mermaids, so send them onwards to my email address at the top of this post!)

NOTE TO READERS:  My computer has crashed twice  (now make that thrice, as I struggle to rewrite and edit and email this) while writing this, so if you get mumble-jumble on your end today, it's just jumbies.    I am going to try to email this again... and see what happens next!

Another fun read, of true tales from the high seas!

Warm and Sunny Regards,
