TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN NO. 2

.....TROPICAL STORM GONZALO AT ITS CLOSEST APPROACH THIS AFTERNOON.....
WATCHES/WARNINGS: A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Sint Eustatius and Saba.
A Small Craft Warning will come into effect as of this morning.
EFFECT ON LOCAL CONDITIONS:
Winds: Northeasterly, becoming southwesterly fresh to near gale force; 18 to 30 miles per hour. In the early afternoon tropical storm force winds around 60 miles per hour with gusts up to 70 miles per hour.
Seas: Becoming fairly rough to extremely rough this morning, with wave heigths of 12 to 14 feet later today. A small craft advisory will be in effect as of this morning.
Rainfall: Occasional rain and thundershowers will spread over Statia and Saba and may bring 2 to 4 inches of rain and during passage gradually increasing between 4 to 8 inches of rain. Some street flooding is possible in the heavier rain.
Local authorities and residents of Statia and Saba are advised to continue monitoring the further progress of GONZALO and complete all necessary measures to safeguard life and property by noon.
