- Update from Martinique

Decent rains overnight around 1am with a bit of thunder for good measure. No
winds at all. Very calm in fact. I'm guessing the hazards for us will be
flash flooding and land slips... Meteo France has us on Alerte Orange for the
moment... Essentially TS Warning. Look here for satellite and radar imagery :

The rain restarted this morning around 6am and hasn't stopped since. Nothing
heavy just continuous. A few thunder claps to the north of the island over Mt
Pele.

From where I live I have a view over the Caribbean Sea and it is grey grey grey
! No horizon in sight !

- Big storm, electricity cuts

Good afternoon everyone.

Confirming pretty much what was said about Dominica, we had an almighty storm
pass over this morning in the north of the island. Lots of thunder and
lightning, lots of rain and to top it off there are currently around 94000
people without electricity. EDF is doing its best and should have things back
to normal in the next couple of hours.

Over in Guadeloupe I've heard that one person has been declared "missing" as a
direct result of the storms over the last couple of days.

I'm hoping things will improve for the weekend as there is a Raid race (like
cross country but harder) on Saturday, the Tchimbe Raid and I'm supposed to be
taking photos. Take a look at the website and my photos ;-).

Cheers,
