Good morning Everyone,
Myself and my family has just arrived back on Margarita island after a great holiday in Scotland Visiting all the family,the weather was unusually wet due to the moving jet stream and la nina effects this year which with global warming and ice cap melting the jet stream may permanently move and so the Summers in Britian could come increasingly wet for good....not good news for the south but us scot's won't notice too much...hahahahaha...always rainy.
Ok Weather today on the island is calm with variable winds from NE at the moment with towering clouds ready to open up and get us wet.The Satelite image shows and fairly big blob just to the east of us over Trinidad and Tobago at this time and most forecasts are saying we will have rain today...let's see how much we actually get.
The Day we arrived back from scotland,el yaque beach which is where we are it's on the S.E side of Margarita saw 2 big water spouts out to see roughly 1km away which were very well formed........something to look out for fishermen..

Hi Again,
Just thought i would post again to report that the band of Rain tailing off the south of T.S Ernesto is finally right over us.
Weather at the moment,HEAVY RAIN with thunder and lightning everywhere,roads are flooding already,masses amounts of water running off the desert onto the streets,for sure tomorrow El Yaque will be Full of mud and sand....big clean up for sure..
Inside the house now with a chicken in the oven...night in infront of the tele and eating..bring it on....

Hi Everyone,
We have had North Westerlies all day and it's still blowing in that direction for now but only at 10 knots,for sure tonight it will swing to come from the south as T.D Ernesto passes to north of us,thats also when i think we will run into some thunder,lightening and alot of rain, tonight and right through tomorrow.
At the moment we have the line of the main band of rain directly over Margarita island,you can actually see the split,to the West sunny and to the East very,very Dark skies with towering Cumulonimbus clouds...
If anything exciting happens will post again,but for now stay safe everyone and stay alert...

Hello Everyone,
We have at the moment heavy and some prolonged rain showers arriving to
Margarita island.
The main blob as you can see on the satelite image is over Trinidad and Tobago
at the moment and seems to be intensifying as we speak and moving closer to
margarita,I guess we are in for a very wet Monday.
So far we haven't received any wind at all,but it won't surprise we as the most
intensive part of the system passes over winds will probably turn gusty.
Will report back as the system passes over..
Happy Monday for the garden.

Hi everyone,
Weather at the moment is Westerly 25knots and rain,very blusterly conditions
with gusts upto 35...I had to close my kitesurfing center because of kayaks and
boards flying around,shading and chairs too....all tied down now.
We have a cluster of thunder storms coming off the mainland and we are getting
a circular motion of cumulunimbus clouds coming from north,south,east and west.
Rain is on it's way..time for a Cuba libre and the living room.

Hi Everyone,
At the moment,We have a big blob coming off the North East coast of Venezuela
and passing over Margarita island.We have just received our first Heavy shower
from the blob today and looks like we will get few more before sunset.
Wind picked up from 15 knots to 25 knots in the shower but now back down,for
sure it will pick up again as other showers come through..
Keep your eyes on this blob....Dutch Islands..

Hi Everyone,
As you can see on the satelite images that we have a little blob over us today and we are having intermittent rain,heavy at times,but i do believe later this morning this will break up and the sun will be with us once more and hopefully accompanied with wind so we can kitesurf.
Not much to report from the East..no Tropical development expected in the next 48 hours or more.
Keep Alert...because with such a quiet season we are going to have one seek up on us...for sure...be careful..

Hi Everyone,
Well the tropical wave passed over our island last nigh through this morning
with one heavy shower and some distant thunder,very lame indeed,nothing to
report or worry about..which is good thing.
Keeping our eye's peeled east,I think this year is going to more difficult to
predict what is coming and developing until it's right next door so stay alert..
Weather today,dull and overcast with 8 - 12knots SSE(onshore) wind.
Off to the city to do some shopping not much else to do..

Hi Everyone,
A big Hello from Margarita Island,it has been a while since i made a post.Well things have been very quiet so far this season with most of the tropical depressions/storms forming much further west probably to do with the dry sarah desert air hindering the development of any tropical waves further east or should i say until now...
We have today a big fat blob just N.E of Margarita(tropical wave) and the current weather is moist,windless and big towering cumulonimbus clouds all around.We are expected to get local thunder storms with gusty winds later this afternoon with some local flooding,could this be something for the rest of the islands to watch out for..
Ok guy's i am off to watch the football final,no kiting today because of wind conditions and so i will be with all my friends shouting on Italy even although i am scottish,hahahaha..they never get anywhere so i am forced to support other teams...oh well...still loads of fun....
