Its been a day of mixed weather here in SVG at least in different parts of the island, last night there were reports of very heavy and continues rains in the northern part of the island while very little was in the south, today was rather warm with cloudy conditions during morning hours becoming generally fair by midday and afternoon.
Looks like lots of clouds are going to be moving in from the west during the next 24 hours or so, this may provide us with a good chance of some showers tomorrow into thursday, i guess we will have to see how that works out.
Remember to start your preparations early for the 2012 hurricane
season!

SPECIAL
WEATHER BULLETIN FOR ST.VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
2:00 pm on Friday,
20th April, 2012.
A
broad area of unsettled conditions associated with the passage of a trough system
is presently affecting the Windward Islands.
As
a result, some light to moderate rain and isolated pockets of moderate to heavy
showers have been spreading across St. Vincent and the Grenadines today.
Analysis
suggests that these conditions will continue to affect the island tomorrow with
a gradual decrease in shower activities by Sunday.
However,
moisture levels will remain reasonably high, until early next week where only
some scattered showers will be expected during this time.
Residents
in flood prone areas should exercise caution and remain on the alert.
All concerned should take the necessary precautions.
FORECAST
CONDITIONS FOR ST. VINCENT: VALID 20th April 2012 12 am – 6 am 21st April 2012.
Today: Generally cloudy to overcast with some showers and periods of rain.
Winds: E - ESE at 10 - 30 km/h.
Seas: Moderate in open water with swells 1.5 - 2.0 m.
Small craft operators and sea bathers
should continue to exercise some caution.
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Office will
continue to monitor the situation.

Hello Stormcarib friends, after being somewhat MIA for the last few months with this site i have been coming and reading posts from various islands, keep up the good work fellow storm carib-ers :) , it was another beautiful day here in SVG today a few sprinkles this morning and some heavy showers overnight but a pleasant day overall, its cool at the moment with a light breeze and a few showers on and off .
The predictions are for this year to be below average, i hope that it indeed it is because in these times we cant afford to have another Storm/Hurricane pass through the islands ,we look forward to the follow up predictions by the DR and his team and pray for the best in the upcoming hurricane season which is coming ever so close to us
.
I have noticed an increase in the frequency of high wind gusts in SVG,
some farmers have reported damage to crops, especially on the leeward
side of the island. The cold fronts which move down at this time of
the year seem to linger uncomfortably, coupled with a supposed shift
of the earth's magnetic north will make for an interesting year.
It's not too late to wish everyone a very happy new year, and to let
all my fellow stormcarib colleagues know that today is Colvin Harry's
birthday, he is a regular contributor to the St Vincent page of this
site.
Wish him happy birthday on his Facebook wall.

- Overcast...Rain...Thunderstorms..
By "Colvin \"Koolkidd\" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Sat, 10 Sep 2011 16:15:50 +0100 (BST)
Its been overcast since mid morning with some strong thunderstorm activity in Kingstown, still over cast with some on and off showers moving in, seems like our weather will be unsettled for the rest of the day,so will see what happens later on.
We had some severe thunderstorms very early this morning just after 1AM which resulted in power being out on mainland St Vincent and in Bequia, almost all areas are back, there is a report that prospect is s till out due to a blown out transformer but i believe VINLEC would have already resolved this by the time of this posting.
Have a safe one all! All the best to our friends in Antigua , Barbuda and all the northern islands dealing with
MARIA.
Maria seems to ba a magician as she performs a slight of hand, on one
hand she appears dis organized, as she seems to do a split, on the
other hand, may suddenly reappear in a totally different position from
our man made tracks. This is one lady who does not take orders! Here
in SVG, we are experiencing heavy rain, and gusty winds up to 20 Mph,
lots of thunder and lightning also.
Hope we are spared from her wrath,
Hs

- Update from SVGWeather.info
By "Colvin \"Koolkidd\" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Today
was relatively quiet in terms of weather the usual puffy clouds and
warm temperatures prevailed much to the liking of many out door
enthusiasts and especially to the students who are enjoying their final
week of summer vacation before they head back to school next week, on a
more serious note the Atlantic is really heating up with Tropical
Depression 12 soon to become KATIA and a few other areas of interests in
the Atlantic and Caribbean basin.
Since TD 12 is to our east we will examine this system first , as at
11PM located at 11 North 30 West , it remained as a tropical Depression
and was moving WNW at 15 miles per hour,. winds are at 35MPH with gusts
up to 50 MPH,in this current motion most models have it passing just
North East of the northern islands around Sunday as a Hurricane, some
forecasters are saying that it will continue WNW for about 4 days then
turn back to the west,if this is the case the northern islands will be
in danger of a strong system passing through them, but as it looks now
all the models are in agreement that it will miss the islands all
together, note that this may change in the next day or two.
Lets look at some graphics recently coming to hand :
The
11PM cone has the system moving WNW to just east of the northern
islands by Saturday there after the path is uncertain and may or may
not impact the nothern islands, as this system progresses WNWards we
will have a better
picture
On
recent satellite imagery Tropical Depression 12 seems to have lost some
steam but still packing winds of 35MPH with 50MPH gusts, still expected
to strengthen to a category 2 hurricane later this week.
This may or may not have an impact on our weather later this week, i
expect at least roughed up seas from this system even though it passes
north of the islands since by then it may be a strong system which can
generate above normal sea swells as far south as SVG, so keep an e ye on
it.
Tomorrow looks to be a mixed day weather wise, the monsoon TROF to our
east edging in a bit and may increase the chance of some showers by
tomorrow afternoon and into Wednesday we run a 30% chance tomorrow and
40% wednesday with the TROF hanging to our east.
We
wake up this morning to a 70% chance of INVEST 97L developing into a
tropical system,though its
due to pass through the northern islands
later tonight into tomorrow it may still have time to make it to a
Minimal Tropical Storm before crossing the islands,in the wee hours of
this morning the Mid Level Circulation of INVEST 97L centered itself
under the heaviest convection which moved slightly north to around
14.3north 53 west which puts it 550 Miles East North East of St Vincent
and the Grenadines and Due East of Dominica and the leewards, as it is
now its continuing a West and Slight West northwest movement which
should take it well north of SVG and through around Dominica or
Guadalupe, this will allow us to get some rough weather later tonight
into tomorrow with unsettled Seas and strong winds in squalls are all
possible over the next 24 hours.
Lets take a look at some Official Graphics of INVEST 97L
Below : The National Hurricane Center in Miami upped the chance of development in its 2AM Tropical Weather outlook to 70%
Below : NOAA Floater centered on INVEST 97L Zoomed in to show
detail and organisation of the system as it approaches, this image
updates automatically and is the latet available.
Below : The latest available Model Runs on INVEST 97, notice most
have 97L Tracking through the northern islands late saturday into
sunday, this map is Zoomed since its closer to the islands.
So what does all this mean for our weather in SVG, its left to be
seen how close this system will pass to us,but i expect it to pass
anywhere between Martinique and Antigua over the next 24-48 hours
bringing heavy squalls and roughed up seas to those islands, we most
likely will not have that much of a serious impact except for some
localized squalls with breezy conditions late tonight into tomorrow and a
high chance of rain ,60-80% from tonight into tomorrow.
To our friends to our north please keep an eye on this system and
stay tuned to your local radio and wait for official information from
your local Met office, remember you may well be having topical storm
conditions in the next 24 hours ! The hurricane hunter aircraft is
scheduled to fly into this system at 2PM today to investigate it, will
provide a further update with finding once that recon flight reports
back to base and provides data on surface structure of this system.
Its
been a few days since i updated but i have been away from a computer
for a while hence the reason why no updates, anyway as we look to our
east and north east and all around us scattered showers are pretty much
every where so its a hit or miss situation, this morning started out very
bright and sunny but this afternoon we had some severe thunderstorms
with intense lightning action followed by loud rumbles of thunder across
most of the country those clouds have since then abated and moved out
of our area allowing for clearer skies with just some slow moving high
level clouds and a bit of low level patches drifting by.
As we look at the outlook for this weekend, computer models are now
hitching onto the newly formed INVEST 97L which is over 1000 miles east
of the island chain around 15North 40West, already above our latitude ,
some models put it just north of Barbados as a significant system
others are more reserved and take it through the northern islands but if
it does develop it will impact our weather over the weekend with
squalls and possible rough seas.So we just keep a close eye on it for
any sort of developments .
Tonight through tomorrow we run a 40% chance of a shower or two with
the moisture around and Saturday and Sunday our chances are up a little
higher all depending on if this system develops or not which we shall
confirm in the coming day or two.For now we will jsut keep a close eye
on it.Will do that for you.
- Tuesday August 16th Evening Update SVG Weather Tid-Bit
By "Colvin "Koolkidd" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2011 05:01:53 +0100 (BST)
Looking back at today, with mostly clear skies few clouds drifting by
and warm temperatures not a bad day after all weather-wise,the kind of
day you will want for things like picnics or beach trips or one of those
goat cooks, that’s if you don’t have work to go to..sea temps are
relatively warm so it rather comfortable in the water and seas were
around 1.5 meters safe enough for the experienced swimmer.
Looking at the outlook for tomorrow and beyond, satellite photos
indicate patchy showers around our general area which will allow for
some rather unsettled cloudy weather tomorrow,INVEST 93L is to the west
and moving quickly away leaving behind this “blobette” just east of the
leewards
and
northern windwards, this may expand and provide us with a good chance of
some showers once it keeps at it most likely tomorrow during the mid
morning to early afternoon,we may well even see some showers though
scattered in the wee hours of Wednesday morning,we run a 40% chance of
showers and possible isolated thunderstorms through tomorrow and 30
percent on Thursday when some sense of normality at 20% on Friday into
Saturday, though the weather for the weekend may change at anytime.
On a final note of interest, the eastern Atlantic seems to be coming
alive with several areas of interest and computer forecast models have
been steady on predicting a strong system through the islands this
weekend or early next week which may be spawned by one of those waves in
the Atlantic at the moment,i wont get to excited on that just yet
except to say that the GFS which is the more reliable puts a strong
tropical storm t through Barbados and over St Vincent and the Grenadines
around Monday but these things can be off by hundreds of miles at times
and even on intensity can be way to generous so i wouldn’t bank on all
of these models,Just keep in mind to be prepared in the eventuality,
will of course keep you posted daily on whats happening in the topics
and around SVG.
Well seems no one can accurately predict these
things since they have a mind of there own, INVEST 93L has returned from the dead and WOW! has it returned with a vengeance, the showers and thunderstorms have gotten really expansive in the last few hours and this may change the weather outlook for today.
Lets see what it looks like on satellite this morning
Notice showers have redeveloped and about to move into the islands.as of this morning 93L was said to be at 13.5 North 56.4 West and moving west
So as it looks today, the lower end of 93L should brush us, as you notice it has winds of 30MPH so the winds may be above normal at times near showers we will run a 80% chance of
showers today and down to 60% later tonight with possibly 60 % tomorrow morning once it hangs around for a bit, it may not become a tropical depression before the axis crosses us but still a possibility so keep visiting once anything changes for the worst will update you!
- Saturday 13th August Evening SVG Weather Tid-bit
By "Colvin "Koolkidd" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Sun, 14 Aug 2011 03:47:03 +0100 (BST)
What a hot day it was again, at least most of it , then later today in the glorious sunshine came a sprinkle of rain, but that wasn’t all within 30 minutes it had become partly cloudy and the
rain began to cool things down big time,it remained mostly cloudy beyond sunset and as i type this report…its raining on the outside, just the kind of rain you will expect after a very hot day, lots of condensation and evaporation happening hence the reason for these showers.
The INVESTS parade continues with one Tropical Storm named FRANKLIN in the northern Atlantic whisking away to the North East,We have INVEST 92L, which is looking rather shabby tonight,INVEST 94L which has improved considerably and there are are hints on popular weather site
weather underground that this is possibly already a Tropical Depression according to the latest ACTF.Last but by no means least there is INVEST 93L which is barely holding on to Life support at this point, however the NHC is still saying that this may regenerate before entering the islands around Monday or tuesday so we will still keep an eye on it for you.
Lets look at the latest model Guidance of where 93L will go:
The models are still very much all over the place as to where 93L will go if it does form up,but GFS which is most reliable is still tracking it through SVG and St Lucia.
So as it is now,it still remains uncertain if we will get a system through us come Monday or Tuesday ,it all depends on if this system pans out or not.We would have better clarifications on that by maybe late Sunday or early Monday,so if we do have something through us it will be VERY short notice for any sort of preparations,as it is now i don’t believe we will have anything significant through us a Tropical Depression to weak tropical storm at most i would say.
As for the outlook, Partly Cloudy to cloudy weather tomorrow with a shower or two possible during the day so we run a 30% chance of showers, monday we would have atleast some showers by late afternoon and tuesday remains uncertain in terms of weather because of the possibility of this system developing.
Thats all for now! Enjoy the rest of your weekend friends!
- Friday Night August 12th SVG Weather Info Tid-Bit
By "Colvin "Koolkidd" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Sat, 13 Aug 2011 04:55:07 +0100 (BST)
Brilliant sunshine was the order of the day once again today, with
warm temperatures near 32 Celsius and very light breeze and it seems as
though this pattern will continue at least through the weekend, certainly
some good news for the beach goers for the upcoming weekend. The
Atlantic is very busy today with INVESTS 92L,93L,94L and TROPICAL
DEPRESSION SIX all within the past 48 hours , however INVEST 92L and 94L
and TD SIX should not impact on our weather but 93L can possibly be a
player in our weather here on Tuesday so i will follow this one very
closely for you.
Lets start with some Model Data (Potential Track) Latest available :
Models
at 8PM Tonight showing INVEST 93L on a possible track between Grenada
and the Virgin Islands, still too far out to say but quite possible that
it may pay a visit to us here in SVG, hence we should keep a watch full
eye on this as the NHC and local authorities will be doing so to keep
all informed,of course i will do my best to bring you information as it
comes to hand on this system.
The latest position we had is at 11.6 North , 32.6 West , moving
Westwards at 16MPH,the latest imagery shows it lacking convection BUT a
circulation can be clearly seen on satellite, which shows that there is
some sort of organization there,if this system does develop convection
and shows consistency we may have a Tropical Depression by Sunday, but
that’s a big if,nothing is for certain with this type of system,if it
does have an impact on our weather it may not be until next Tuesday or
Wednesday, but we may well see a Tropical Depression or storm in our area
early next week so don’t rule that out just yet! As it is still very
far out i will reserve more detail on this for another update where we
will be able to examine fresh data.
Looking towards the weekend, we expect to see the usual seasonal
weather Saturday and Sunday, 20% or less chance of a shower or two and
warm temperatures, the breeze will be light for the entire
weekend.Monday looks to be great weather wise as well but Tuesday and
onwards will depend on if this system develops or not .Only time will
tell…
Thats about it for now…Have a great weekend all! Another update will be posted sometime tomorrow.
- Late Thursday August 11th SVG Weather Info Tid-Bit
By "Colvin "Koolkidd" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Fri, 12 Aug 2011 04:02:13 +0100 (BST)
Another Glorious day in SVG, puffy clouds warm temps and relatively
calm seas with just a slight breeze,a few showers late today around the
southern portions of the island but that was short lived, interestingly
enough the countryside was dry while the southern portion of the island
had rain, not unusual to us here in SVG but just one of those times that
makes you wonder about the weather.
As we look to our east this
evening,we can see that the National Hurricane Center has been pulling
out their crayons, they put down he yellow ones and now have done there
orange sketches on the Atlantic map, what this means?Well it means we
have two systems INVEST 92L and INVEST 93L at a 40% chance of becoming a
Tropical Cyclone in the next 48 hours.See image below:
INVEST
92L and 93L before sunset today, notice 92L is more north than
93L,hence we should be more worried about 93L than 92L having an impact
on our weather...still lets not rule out 92L just yet...
Here are the latest Forecast Tracks for both systems.....
Will
Continue to monitor these two systems for you and update you as
necessary, but i do believe we will have one depression in the Atlantic
by Saturday if this continues and maybe two by Monday...we will see how
that pans out.
Regarding our weather, tomorrow should be another
seasonal day with the usual 20-30% chance of a few isolated showers with
mostly warm temperatures and with light to moderate breeze blowing
accross the islands,as i tend to say here we go another beach day! (Not
for me though i have work ) Will keep you posted on any more
developments weatherwise.
Another
beach type day it was with no rain to speak of across most of the
islands it was rather warm and humid for the most if not all of the day
today, our skies look clear at least for the next few days as dry
conditions prevail over the eastern Caribbean, while we have dry
conditions here to our far east lies two systems INVEST 92L and 93L
just off the coast of Africa, though they do not pose a threat to us as
it is now, we will follow them for you so that you can be well informed
as to their current location and impact on our weather here in SVG, as
it is now the models are pretty much all in agreement that these two
systems will become Tropical Cyclones, where exactly they will go , west
to west north west, this may be of concern to us since the more west
these systems come and the more lower they are in latitude the more
likely they are to have an impact on our weather. For example INVEST 92L
is lower in latitude ( Around 10North) and INVEST 93L is higher ( around
12.5 North) , would be more concerned about 93L at this point having an
impact on our weather in another 6 days or so depending on forward
movement.
Lets look at some Images to better explain
This
recent Satellite image shows INVEST 92L and 93L in the far eastern
atlantic, the two systems we are monitoring for possible development.
This
GFS Computer forecast model shows INVEST 92L and 93L several days from
now with 92L weaker and near the Bahamas islands and INVEST 93L a much
stronger hurricane just east of the northern Leewards, this scenario is
likely since GFS is one of the more reliable models used by the National
Hurricane Center and other forecasting agencies.
From the above images we can tell that the Atlantic is about to get
real heated with Models predicting as much as 4 storms in the coming
weeks,we shall see how this pans out, i will keep an eye on the
developments regarding these two systems and update you,you can also
click on the “ Recent Satellite Imagery” tab at the top of this page and see latest positions and satellite imagery of these invests.
The outlook for tomorrow looks pretty much the same as today a
seasonal 20% chance of a shower or two and yes another one of those
excellent beach days which the seas relaxing a bit to 1.5 meters ,this
weather should pretty much be similar for the rest of this week and
possibly into the weekend until these systems come closer we will know
the effects they will have on our weather here in SVG.Thats all for now
another update will be posted tomorrow!
- Tuesday August 9th Early Edition SVG Weather Tid-bit
By "Colvin "Koolkidd" Harry" <colvinharry at yahoo.co.uk>
Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2011 05:43:22 +0100 (BST)
Well you might say i have been M.I.A. for the past few days as to
what is happening weather-wise, and you are correct i have not posted
since Wednesday! but the weekend was a busy one which i thoroughly
enjoyed,it was a great weekend for the beach ,never mind the few hit and
miss showers we had between Saturday and Sunday, it was very warm and
the sea water was inviting,it was an eventful weekend though with an
earthquake which occurred just after midnight smack between St Vincent
and St Lucia which was felt on both islands.
72 km (44 miles) ESE of CASTRIES, St. Lucia
113 km (70 miles) NW of BRIDGETOWN, Barbados
116 km (72 miles) SE of FORT-DE-FRANCE, Martinique
805 km (500 miles) SE of SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico
Also on a point of note there was a 4.5 magnitude very shallow
earthquake off barbados on Monday August 8th at around 10.42AM Local
time, see USGS website for more info on this.
Now onto matters of Tropical weather nature…it is rather quiet
now,EMILY is long gone, the computer models are a bit tricky with their
forecasts but are hinting systems passing through or just north of the
islands in the coming weeks, once these runs become consistent and are
trust worthy, for now we will play it by ear,we have a tropical wave
approaching the northern islands from the east attached to it is a LOW
of 1012MB,it is moving quickly into the islands and is being hindered by
heavy dust presence in the Atlantic, over the past few hours however it
has began to show signs of blowing up convection and expanding,so i
wouldn’t rule out the possibility of us feeling the effects of this
either later today or tomorrow (Wednesday) though the bulk of the
activity should stay to our north.Today we run a seasonal 20% chance of a
hit or miss shower or two, late tonight into tomorrow chance of showers
may increase to 50% or more with the approaching wave.
Lets see what the satellite imagery says, this was taken at 11:45
Local time…notice that “blob” blowing up just east of Barbados, that’s
our wave…will keep you posted!
more rain...3 1/2 inches yesterday...when the dogs woke me
around 6, I thought, good, it's gone, and then it got
gusty and it started to pour, but that didn't last too
long, so I took the opportunity of the gap in the weather
to take the dogs out, and we all ended up soaked to the
skin...I haven't gone out to check the rain gauge to see
what we got so far today...very grey, currently drizzling,
and thunder...as far as one can see to the west is
overcast...on the infrared satellite photos it looks like
a huge system that will be bringing us showers all day, so
I guess all the windwards are feeling damp, some more so
than others...this looks like it's going to do some real
damage before it's over and done with...lets pray that
Emily will turn north and fizzle out at sea...

Hello Stormcarib Friends,
Once again we report more rain,it is falling continuously with over 5 inches (maybe 6 by now) recorded at the local met office thats an unprecedented ammount of rainfall for 24 hours for us here in SVG,i just got this images from a friend travelling into kingstown, there is flooding at arnos vale among other places and some vehicles are attempting to cross the high waters( we wish them all the best) not a very wise idea at all.
I have attached a couple photos so you can see for yourself what its like at arnos vale .Will keep you posted
We having lots of rain and scattered thunderstorms over the last few hours and
some gusty winds.took this photo with my phone a short while ago!

woke up this morning to showers, sometimes heavy and sometimes light , its been raining since before 7 this morning and has only let up a few times for very brief periods , as i type this its still raining.Keep safe all and stay dry.. off to work soon!
Attached is a photo of the rain in the nearby mountains..
. A TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED ABOUT 400 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE
SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS CONTINUES TO PRODUCE A DISORGANIZED AREA
OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. ALTHOUGH SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT OF
THIS SYSTEM IS NOT EXPECTED...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS ARE POSSIBLE OVER
NORTHERN SOUTH AMERICA AND THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS DURING THE
NEXT DAY OR TWO. THERE IS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF THIS
SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
Hey All Over heard at home this morning, "where is the sun? please put it back because it is still dark" So it is this morning, with gusts of winds at around 20 -25 Mph, this wave is making it's presence felt, from the sat pics, it's main area of rain activity seems to be south of St Vincent, so Grenada, looks like rain, I can also detect the genesis of circulation to the north of this system, I hope that NOAA is paying attention to this one, as it show promise, as Gert remarked, Arlene may form by the end of the month, ( would hate for her to be this one) it is too close to my doorstep.
So with the umbrella and Jacket, I am off to work. have a safe day folks in Barbados, Grenada, and St Vincent and the Grenadines. Hs

Hey Stormcarib friends its been a bleaky day here in SVG weatherwise...was partly cloudy at first then it started to cloud up and late this evening it got dark pretty quickly with quick flashes of lightning and a distant rumble of thunder, winds were gusting close to 30 MPH i would average with some utility poles rocking and trees bending also the rain has been falling almost 2 hours now ..sometimes heavy but at present its drizzling.
satellite photos show some bright colors around our area which spells more rain for us over the next 12-24 hours..on my travel from kingstown this evening some parts of the road were already flooded (i could imagine if it rains some more what will happen) hoping that it will not cause too much of a problem as i have to get to work for 5AM tomorrow
. Stay safe all if any major changes i will update you.
Remember to ALWAYS be prepared! it only takes one storm/hurricane to wreck your comfortable lifestyle.

It’s been thunderstorms and showers off and on all day
today…not a huge amount of accumulation so far, just a little more than
an inch the last time I checked, but the big blob (wave) headed our way that we
seem to be on the leading edge of, could bring us lots more overnight and
tomorrow…

In Bequia we had a brief squall go through yesterday
afternoon around 3:30…gusty wind and a heavy downpour for as long as it
lasted which wasn’t long…only ½ inch of rain…gorgeous day
today…
- And the wind begins..

Awoke a short while ago to a fierce 20 Mph wind which whistled through
the trees and rattled the rooftops nearby, being at the crest of a
hill does not help either. The accompanying rain is also intense, hope
it dies soon.

Well, it’s that time of year again, and we started off
a day early with a tropical wave going through early on May 31st
bringing us some wind and a heavy downpour in fairly short time…we found
a small tree uprooted and over in the garden that day so the water had to have
been running pretty good, and when I took the dogs for their morning preamble
all I could hear all around me was water running…about a hour later
though it was all dried up and hotter than blazes…a positive to all the
rain we’ve had is that the tanks are all full and the pools keep getting
topped up without having to use tank water to do so…and since the 31st,
no rain, and very hot, though there is a nice breeze if you are located in a
place to catch it…I was into Port Elizabeth earlier today and there wasn’t
much breeze there, so I was glad to get home to the breeze on our deck…the
mossies have been horrible the past few months but in particular the past few
weeks…I’ve had more bites in the past few weeks than I think I’ve
had in the past 14 years, and my mossie zapper swatter has been getting a good
workout…have you ever accidentally touched the wire screen on one of
those when it’s in the on position…yowch…I don’t
recommend it…I love the sizzle sound and little flash of light when you
get a particularly fat mossie…little monsters…even though I have
good cross ventilation coming through the office, I’m dripping, so on
that note, I must go dip in the pool…safe season everyone…lets all
be prepared and pray that the storms all fizzle out at sea…
- more rain in Bequia

I was so thrilled that that sun was shining this morning
after a couple of days of no sunshine and frequent showers…I took a
mattress pad that I’d washed on Sunday out to see if I could finish
getting it dry in the sun in the courtyard, and fortunately was able to grab it
and get it back inside when the rain reappeared…I haven’t splashed
out to the rain gauge to see how much we’ve had, but the pool level has
come up what looks like about 4 inches and it’s still coming down…the
pasture below us at Spring is flooded and you can see the gutters overflowing
and the Spring road is under water…
Bequia is incredibly lush and green, and the tree frogs are
multiplying…they sound like they are anyway…where we’d lost
plants due to the drought last year is all grown in, and you almost can’t
tell where we lost trees from Hurricane Tomas, everything is growing so well…
Hopefully there won’t be any land slippages with all
this rain…
