Hi,

It has been a long time, but actually besides the sometimes heavy rain, it is quite.

The island is very green now, but the roads pay the price.

This morning we had a little shower at Paradera, but the satellite shows that more is coming.

Now it is very humid, but looking outside I see the sky overcastting very fast.

We will see what happens what Dave is seeing on his computer.

We’ll keep in touch

Hi,

Invest 97 was expected on Aruba, but decided to change her course.

We had some rain early in the morning in Paradera.

Till now we had some water coming down every day, but not that much what was predicted.

We’ll see what this month and next month will bring for the islands.

It is true what Gert said, it is busy at the end.

Hi,

After a couple of days with sometimes heavy rain, another surprise is coming our way.

Invest 97 is close to us now, hitting Bonaire and Curaçau while I am writing this.

A couple of days ago the island had some heavy rain and all the dams are full.

So what is going to happen if all this water is falling again on Aruba.

So we’ll see what is going to come.

Hi,

A few hours ago we had some thunder and lightning and rain.

Actually we are waiting on the big front coming from the mainland (Venezuela).

Now 13:51 pm the wind is increasing and checking the satellite shows that the front  is close to Aruba now.

As for now the atlantic is calm and with some low pressure fronts there is actually nothing to worry about Yet.

Till next time

Hi,

After a nice dinner last night, we got a ssuprise an hour later.

First I thought it was the airco making a terrible sound, but when I went to look outside………….!

There was a lot of lightning and then it started to thunder.

For me it looked like hours those thunder and lightnings, but eventually I fell asleep.

This morning when I looked in the yard I noticed how much water we had had.

My rain meter had at about 3 inches of water.

I have to go out in a minute so I will give an update later on.

Hi,

Woke up this morning and saw that it rained in the night.

How much water fell I don´t know, but it was welcome for the island´s flora.

I am now looking at the satellite and see what TS Maria is doing.

So the rain we had is from her and so to see more is coming.

Reading the forecast from the experts is not so good for the Windward Islands as she slowed down a bit to fuel up.

Well the only thing we can do is pray and hope that she will pass fast back into the atlantic.

Spoke my family on Saba last night and they were preparing for her arrival.

That means close up your house and hide for her.

Keeping an eye on my computer this day and watch what she is doing.

God bless.

Hi,

The day started with some thunders and it rained for about 15 minutes.

It is just not enough to cool down the island, but maybe there is coming more.

TS Maria is moving over the Leeward Islands and it certainly will affect our weather on Aruba.

Here in Paradera is hardly no wind and the humidity is about 83%.

It is quite busy with Hurricane Katia, Tropical storm Maria and tropical storm Nate all in the north atlantic.

We keep a close look on them and anything else what is coming our way.

Keep in touch

Hi,

While everybody is/was praying for the people in the US concerning Irene, we here on Aruba had a night with thunder and lightning.

How much rain fell I don´t know yet but here in Paradera was a lot.

It is still overcast and looking at the satellite it will not be over in a few hours

The island needed the water, because it was hot and sticky the last days.

The temp. in my yard is 29 degrC and a nice breeze.

Watching Invest 92L and Jose.

Keep you posted and keep safe.

Hi,

Well we had a Little shower at Paradera and a reasonable temperature, but now it is hot again.

It is still a little bit overcast, but hardly no wind and a high humidity, makes you feel terrible.

I can start the airco and enjoy it but the only one who is smiling is the electric company.

But that is a minor problem compare to the people on the islands, especially on Haiti with Irene on their neck.

I hope and pray that everything will work out for them.

To think that this is just the beginning and more coming from the west coast of Africa.

Keep you posted

Take care

Hi,

It is hot and today almost no wind.

Actually we need some rain to cool off the island.

In the morning the sky was overcast and really had some drops, but it was gone as soon as it touches the ground.

Looking at the satellite tells us that Invest 98L and 97L are heading far away from aruba, BUT…!!

The clouds we had and have are coming from the mainland and it looks like that we are getting something in the coming days.

So far no problems yet with real bad weather.

Till next time

Hi,

Well the end of July and looking at the satellite from the central of the Atlantic looks very busy.

Checking Invest 91 with the computer models and hoping that somehow this one will stay the same.

For what is coming behind, just passing the African coast, looks a lot bigger.

Praying for the people on the Windward Islands, for I know a lot of people on Saba and my family.

Till now Aruba is quiet, had a good shower on Friday night in Paradera.

Everything can change with all the low pressures around us especially the mainland of south America, for there is a big area to keep an eye on.

Keep you posted.

Hi,

When I woke, around 6:30 this morning, I heard some rumbling.

My wife was up already and had taken the cushions inside, because our whole porch was very wet.

Yesterday we had some rain, at least in Paradera, but today the plants have enough water again.

It is still heavy overcast and according to the satellite, it will be for a while.

The temperature is 27 degrC and the humidity is 86%.

Keeping in touch.

Hi,

While Saba had thunderstorm and lightning with heavy rains, our island Aruba is dry, hot and sticky.

It looks like this is gonna stay for a couple of days.

The humidity is high, 84% temperature about 32 degrC, but it feels like somewhere around the forties.

Here in Paradera almost no wind.

If you go to the beach don’t forget to use a very good sun block.

Hi,

Well the season started a few days ago and every time we hope and pray that it will be quiet at the front.

I always keep in close contact with my brother in law on Saba, because the windward Islands are mostly the ones who got hit badly.

Saw on the satellite that something is brewing and waiting for the outcome from  the Hurricane Hunters.

Keep in touch with you

Hello Folks,

It's been a while since I last wrote some lines here.
The season is closing by again.
The time to start preparing yourself and close family and friends.

On the Island we had some small showers early in the morning, but during the day you'll feel the heat.

Lets hope that this season it won't be too busy at home.

Take care, be good, be safe and stay sweet.
