Good morning,
According to the radar images we should be in the middleof Erika now, but other then that all schools and offices are closed we hardly are aware of the existence of Erika.
Windspeed is maybe a bit higher then normal, surf on the ocean side is a bit heavier then normal, but thats all. Hardly any rain so far.
According to this site Erika should exactly now be on its closest point of approach but there is hardly any sign of that.
We wait and see how this will develope

Hi all,
Bill passed Statia almost without us noticing it. The winds yesterday evening were a little stronger then normal and the surf is still heavy. We didn t have any rain.
Everything is back to normal here now, except for the heavy surf on the north east beaches.

ANA passed with a lot of thunder and lightning and some rain. But, as i am told, nothing special.
For an unexperienced dutch guy like me it was quite an event tho. When ANA wasn t even a TS and 100 miles from the island, then i don t want to know what will happen when a real hurricane hits the island.

Hi all,
I arrived 1 month ago, never been in the tropics
before.
I am told that i should not hope for tropical
storms, let alone hurricanes. As an unexperienced european guy i might get
frustrated and maybe even scared.
Sigh..... the hurricane season is now 3 weeks old
but only thing happening here is a few showers but nothing special so far.
All the special weathersystems seem to be all around us but none is hitting us
so far.
Its about time that i get some experience also.
Besides, my cistern needs to be refilled really bad.
