Hi to all,
It has been a long time, but the computers
are working again.
Last night when we went to bed after
looking at CNN about Haiti, who could imagine that I would wake up at around
4.10 in the morning by a rumbling sound that came closer and closer.
Normally I don’t hear anything on
account of the airco.
Suddenly the house was shaking and I heard
some noises in the house.
Then I realized that we had an earth/sea
quake too.
In the morning my daughter called, who
lives in Bringamossa, that they too were woken up by the quake.
She had the news on her Black Berry saying
that it was 4.2 on the scale.
Bought the news paper, but nothing saying
about it.
Even the tv stations don’t mention
anything about it.
But we are going to find out what has
happened and I will notice you all.
Greetings
Roy

Hi,
It took a long time, but I had some problems with
the computer.
Anyhow the last days it is very sticky
weather.
Almost no wind and a humidity of around the
70%.
Temperature is 32 to 36 degrC average during the
day.
Looking at the weather satellites show that there
is a lot of rain areas around Aruba but nothing yet for us.
So we have to use the water from the WEB for the
plants.
A couple more weeks and the hurricane season is
officially ending.
But with the changing of the climate all over the
world you never know.
Till now I think we have been lucky with the
hurricane season.
Till next time.

Hi,
Well it started very early in the morning, thunder
and lightning.
When I woke up at six this morning I saw that
everything was wet, so it rained at last.
Checking the satelite, I see a big area coming from
the mainland of Venezuela.
The temperature outside is 27 degrC and a humidity
of 56.
The sky looked very overcast and it looks like if
it is going to rain again.
For me it feels nice. because these last days it
was very hot and almost no wind.
Till next time.

Hi,
Well I am back again to udate you.
When I woke up this morning I saw that it had
rained a lot at least in Paradera where I live.
Checked the weather satelite and saw that a lot is
still coming our way.
Could not drink my cup of coffee on the porch,
because of the rain.
When I am writing this it starts to rain
again.
At least the plants will get some water, but the
roads are slippery again.
The temperature is 28 degrC and the humidity is
67%.
Aruba also will get a new gouvernement with a new
party.
Now with Valero closed (oil refinery) people will
get it hard to live.
You can see it at the grocery stores, it is very
quiet.
I hope for the best especially for the people that
this won't last too long.

Hi,
Watching Erika, because I have got a lot of family
living on Saba.
Just spoke the family and the people are preparing
their houses for her.
They expect Erika in the foreday.
Here on Aruba it is hot and I am here sweating
behind the computer.
Outside is some wind and out in the shade
it is alright to be.
For now I sign off and take a three weeks vacation,
but will keep in touch with my family on Aruba as well on Saba.

Hi,
Coming back early this morning from a party in the Marriot hotel, the temperature was still 30 degrC. When I woke up this morning it was pouring and hardly no wind. The temperature dropped to 27 degrC, what was a nice temp.
Every now and then there is some drizzle. Looking at the rain radar shows that there is still something heading to Aruba.
It is now 12 noon and the sun is out and you can feel the temp. rising.
Till next time

Hi,
Today the weather is a little bit overcast, hot (32 degrC) and a humidity of 65% and a windspeed of 2 Bft (9,3 km/h). Checking the rain radar shows that there is a front on the main land of Venezuela and the atlantic heading West.
Who knows??
When you pass the beaches, looking at the Caribean sea, you feel like jumping in the water and just relax.
Tiil next time

Hi,
As I watched closely what TS Anna was doing, here on Aruba everything was calm and hot. Where I live on the island, we only had a few drops in the morning and hardly no wind. The humidity is on my weather station 69%.
Spoke to my family on Saba a couple of hours ago and everybody and everything was OK. Now watching Bill very closely and hoping that he will stay on the course he is heading now back to the Atlantic.
Till next time

.......of the 'this is hurricane season'..... Wow- last night was interesting. About 9pm we had a HUGE wind gust that rattled the windows and then sheets of rain came down. Lights went out around the island a few minutes later. They were phased back on until about 2am. The rain continued a steady patter into the night and now it is cloudy and looking like we might get a tad more rain before this is over. One home in a nearby neighborhood lost their roof in the initial wind gust, but no one was hurt.
Funny side note, my friend took me to the grocery store about 8pm (I did a Miss Mermaid and busted by fin, can't drive with a full leg cast) I saw the cutest battery lantern and bought on impulse never thinking I would need it within the hour!
See all the ways you can stay connected to friends and family
