The following are a bunch of photos of Hurricane Ike's aftermath on Providenciales (Provo). Although we didn't get hit as bad as Grand Turk, Salt Cay and South Caicos, we did get a licking and folks in Five Cays were already flooded out by Hurricane Hanna which took it's time leaving the area. Lots of power poles down in Blue Hills and Sapodilla Bay area.... so it will be a while before service is back to normal as we already know. Hat's off to the PPC guys on the ground doing the grunt work... great bunch of guys. Also hat's off to Cable & Wireless who's land line and cell service worked throughout (mine did anyway)

Thanks also to Gert for making this available in a way that won't slow down the main Turks & Caicos Page.

If some of the photos seem a bit foggy it was 8:30 on Sunday morning when I started and raining with tropical storm winds still blowing.

Gert,

Sorry not to be able to send these sooner but after Hanna I has no power for 5 days. (Power company, Fortis owned PPC need better crisis management and public relations instead of the spin were currently getting.)

Following Hanna it came on for two days before Ike knocked it out again for another couple of days. Following that there has been the inevitable clean-up... still ongoing but house ok just garden thrashed.

Will send Ike Photos tomorrow.
