Greetings, Not a lot of rain falling on Nevis. Grass starting to brown up from lack of water. Did get a short shower last evening & this am. Lately not much breeze blowing which makes for that oven feeling. This am the breezes started blowing which will make things feel cooler. All in all another great day in paradise. Cheers!! Hello All, Just when I was getting ready to report another month of little rain the skies opened up last evening. A good steady rain, very heavy at times, filled the cistern if lucky enough to receive the 2+". Up to last evening the rainfall amount for April was a low .06". I looked back through three previous years records and found March-April seem to be months of low rain amounts. Greetings, A Happy Easter to all. April has turned to a dry month to date. Very little rain has fallen and farmers are now starting to search the bush for grasses to feed their livestock. Big problem with monkeys robbing lots of my mango's. As many as 12-15 in the tree at one time. Hopefully they will leave a few to ripen. Good Morning, Plenty of much need rain fell last evening. Reports from around island indicate not everyone received rain, in fact some had NO rain. Here on the west side the rain gage reports 2.75" in about 2-3 hrs time. Pool is topped up as well as the cistern. Thought for sure it was a island wide down pour, raining so loud one couldn't hear normal conversation. Grass will green up after this one!! Station Data attached. Good Morning, The dry spell continues with little rain for seven days. Last recorded amount was on 4-March Did get a splash of drops last evening, wow, a whole .02 in. Greetings: A very dry month with little rain falling on Nevis. Things are starting to look parched, grass turning brown, irrigation systems being used to keep areas green. At times you think rain today only to see the sky turn blue with those clouds disappearing. Will have end of month data posted by weekend. Greetings, After several days of near perfect weather Nevis awoke to clouds and scattered showers this am. Clearing now but satellite images show some clouds with high tops east of Nevis. Hello All, Weather of late has been variable from 1-2 days of clouds and showers to crystal clear days with visibility over 60 mi. Just when you think the nice weather is here to stay for a few days it clouds up and more rain showers. It's been quite cool with day time highs in the mid to upper 70's. Haven't pegged below 70 deg in the evening but have come close. Lowest wind chill recorded is 67.9 deg on 14-Jan-07 Will post end of month data next week with highs & lows. Cheers ! Looks like that band of clouds still lingers around the Leewards. Today is a repeat of the last few days. Last evening was a showery one with 3-4 showers between 8pm & show time! Everyone was looking skyward about 11:55pm wondering if we would be dry or wet. Just as the fireworks got underway a shower moved overhead. As it turned out it was 5 min shower and the display continued. First time in years New Years Eve party got rained on. That's life in the Caribbean. Happy and Healthy New Year to all! OK everyone wants to know whats up for New Years Eve??? Right now is sunny after morning clouds and rain. There's a blob of clouds with rain approx. 120-150 mi E of Antigua. Not moving very fast but its Westward movement might put us in showers this evening, unless mid & upper level winds sheer it and dissipate the threat. Yesterday set up the same way with almost the same conditions, perhaps luck will give us a good night for the Four Seasons firework display. A bit of rain yesterday but today dawned clear, cool and comfortable. It seems the change from hot, humid muggy summer weather was quite abrupt this year. Like it happened over night. Several old timer have even noticed it and commented about it. I think the cooler winds, this time of year, off the Atlantic moved in one day and have been around since. I've heard no complaints! Greetings, Yesterday was a BIG rain day. Recorded almost 5" of rain in a 3 hour period. Lots of flooded roads making some impassable till water receded. Minor washouts on some secondary roads. Today is another day of clouds with threat of more rain. I hear thunder in the distance. Power on and off all day. Internet service up and down. Sunday Morning...... Big rains with lots of lightening passed over Nevis last evening around 9pm. Have some close lightening strikes....enough to lift one out of a chair!!! Cat huddled close by looking for assurance it's OK. Station recorded .87 inches of rain from the storm. Today dawned bright with blue skies and fluffy clouds, good day for a beach-bar lunch at Double Deuce. Attached latest station data. Weather station is showing rain and looking out the window for verification that appears to be the menu right now. The satellite images don't really show the low level clouds presently about. Accuweather Report about all this garbage weather here in Nevis and other islands..... A potent tropical wave continues to affect the eastern Caribbean. It is located along 72 west and south of 20 north and is moving west-northwest at 15-20 knots. The wave is causing numerous showers and thunderstorms from Puerto Rico to the Leeward Islands, the upper-level trough will move back to the west over the next couple of days, as will the shear, but the wave should continue to track under the shear, slowing the development. Looks like it will hang around a few more days before we get back to sun and fair weather. New weather station almost here. Hopefully by next week I'll have it up and running. Hello, Sorry about the infrequent reports from this island. Still haven't received that wireless weather station I ordered several weeks ago !! Seems we are in a scattered shower pattern of late. The satellite images don't really show a lot of clouds around but there here as showers. Could get a passing shower at any time. Had heavy showers last evening as in previous days. Hello All, Low and behold the 2 month drought has ended. We've had several days of gloomy weather with rain on and off all day. Saturday was the kicker with 13"-14" of rain reported up here in the mountains. Also throw in a electrical storm for good measure. Well not so good. My computer motherboard network circuit got zapped so had to replace motherboard. Even worse my weather station console got hit too. I'm now without weather data collection ability till I get another. The good news is today is dawned clear and sunny with winds out of the NW. Harry |

Greetings from WARM Nevis !! Temp right now is 89.2 deg F. Very little rain has fallen this month. 1.26 inches to be exact. Things are very dry. Had a brush fire last week down near the race track which burned 80 acres before being contained . Everyone able bodied person in the area rushed to help. It was what you call a community effort with everyone pitching in. No property was destroyed but some folks, in that area, were very worried about their homes. Good Friday (aka Kite Day) we actually had a nice breeze all day to fly those kites. Else all is well, Harry |

Still in a drought condition here with little or no rain to drag about. Weather satellite images don't show much hope for any appreciable rain coming our way.
Great for the tourists visiting, sunny days with nice water temperatures. A bit warm for them walking around in town doing the shopping/sightseeing thing.
