We woke this morning to some of the first real rain for many weeks. From a gardeners point of view a beautiful day, and I'm sure for visitors the sun will return later.

The last few weeks of course we have been hosting 6 of the World Cup Cricket super eight games, and I would just like to say that Grenada can truly be proud of the way the Island and it's people portrayed themselves to the rest of the world. We have received some of the nicest letters and compliments from the visiting cricket fans, many of whom are now looking at returning to ours and other Islands for vacations in the near future...
TOP MARKS AND CONGRATULATIONS GRENADA

- A welcome rainy day in Grenada

We have had some very dry weather here in Grenada for some weeks now, and the lawns have been taking on that dry season look - so the rains that started yesterday and continued this morning have been a welcome change. All the better of course knowing that it's never long before the sun returns, and we will see the mountain tops ( somewhat greener ) once again.

- Rain, Thunder and More Rain

Well we are certainly not going sailing, or strolling the beach today. I would take a picture but we can't see more than 100 yards in any direction. Lots of lightning and thunder through last night and now even more intense this morning, but no problems with power ( Grenlec really have improved the islands reliability since Ivan ) and the winds are pretty light. Still it looks from the satellite that we are in for a lot more rain today.

- All calm in Grenada

We have had 2 days of almost complete calm here in Grenada and the sea has been like a mirror. Then we started to get a few rain clouds ( probably the southern end of 99L ) and we took this picture from the patio of Aqua Dream apartment ( www.grenadavilla.co.uk ) last night of a spectacular sunset bouncing off an approaching squall.

- Waiting for the storm

We woke up this morning to that eerie calm you always seem to get before a storm. I've lashed everything down on our boat as have our friends - many of whom we can see from our house across the bay in Hog Islands great anchorage ( see picture taken 10 minutes ago ). We are expecting the weather to start closing in around lunchtime onwards and will keep you posted as to how squally it gets here in Grenada. Greetings from Carriacou.
The weather is fair and sunny now, with light winds.
We had much thunder and lightening last night and 0.70" of
rain for the 24 hours ended 08.00 this morning.
Carriacou is preparing for its Annual Regatta. This was
originated by Linton Rigg 41 years ago as a 2-day event. It
now spans a whole week.

- Rainy Day in Grenada

Hi Everyone

Well the lawns are turning green as we watch them here in Grenada and there has been so much rain today that people seemed to be heading home from any outdoor work early. We have seen pretty constant rain all day with only the odd gust of wind. The pool shows 2-3" of rainfall and both of our faithful hounds are looking very miserable sat indoors. I'd post a picture of the mountains and Hog island if only we could see them through the grey skies. Still I found the perfect pass time in the rain - a great wreck dive last night courtesy of Dive Grenada ( www.divegrenada.com )
