Greetings all from The Unspoiled Queen.

Wx today on the warm side of 82 f winds are subsiding once again which is not such good news for the Heineken regatta on Sxm as stronger winds are best for racing.
Rainfall for the month of February is 2 3/4 inches and more is needed.
Some Whales have been sighted during the middle part of last month and if all goes well there should be a few more sightings before all is said and done.

Peace out

Vince.

Greetings all from The Unspoiled Queen.

The Atoll known as the Saba Bank has once again revieled a new spieces of fish which is very good news for divers and biologists. Winds are a lot calmer today and the emissions from Montserrat can be detected in the air, rain is in need as the brown is starting to show itself amoungst the green. The acropods down at the harbor have settled in and seem to be holding well with the exception of a few spots that look as if they have sagged a little too much as seas are breaking on them and the sea spray comes onto the pier and also into the parking area. The new ferry service is up and running 3x per week between Saba and St. Maarten.

Best regards
peace out
Vince

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
WX AT THIS TIME STRONG ENE WINDS AT ABOUT 15 KTS WITH HIGHER GUSTS, RAINING ALSO. RAINFALL TOTAL FOR THE MONTH OF DEC 05 IS 1 1/2 " SO THIS BRINGS THE TOTAL FOR THE YEAR 2005 AT THIS SITE TO 44 1/2 ".
OLD YEARS WENT OFF WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE BANG.
FIREWORKS WERE ORDERED FROM SKB AND THEY WERE THE MOST EXPENSIVE I HAVE HEARD ABOUT YET. A COMPLETE RIP OFF. A NEIGHBOR OF MINE SPENT OVER $1400,00 AND THE AMOUNT OF FIREWORKS FOR THAT PRICE A YEAR AGO WOULD HAVE COST AROUND $350.00. (CHECK THE DAILY HERALD IN THE COMING DAYS).WE COULD SEE THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY FROM THE SURROUNDING ISLANDS AND THAT WAS VERY SPECTACULAR, ST BARTHS GREAT, ST MAARTEN, ST MARTIN AND ANGUILLA ALSO, GREAT JOB OUT THERE. TROPICAL STORM ZETA IS STILL OUT THERE AND CAUSING NO HARM TO ANYONE OTHER THAN SHIPPING. THE MEGA YACHTS ARE AROUND AND THE DIVING IS INCREDIBLY GREAT, THE HIKING HAS ALSO BEEN GREAT AS THE TOP OF MOUNT SCENERY HAS BEEN VERY CLEAR FOR WEEKS.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

Happy Holidays to all from The Unspoiled Queen.
WX has been wndy for the past few days but the temps have remained the same, low seventies in the evening and mid eighties during day light hours.
Light rain showers coming down at this time, the tree frogs are loving it.
Santa arrived on Sunday to give out his presents and the parade was long with poeple blowing theirs car horns all the way from the airport to The Bottom (island capital ) Santa couldn't find his sled or reindeers so he was put on a trailer with lots of horses (horse power) pulling the trailer with Santa from village to village. The kids and grown ups alike all had a great time.
Well done Lions Club.
Not much rainfall for the month as of yet just enough to keep the islands lush and tropical colour in tact. Surrounding waters are clear for the scuba diving and the highest mountain in the Dutch Kingdom has been naked for some time, no cloud coverage to talk about.

Enjoy the Holidays all

Vince.

Saba today was nice cool and clear, all islands were visible .
Winds were fairly strong this morning, SSE at 16 kts, but this afternoon less than 10. Diving, snorkeling and mountain climbing should be great in the days to follow.

Happy holidays to all.

Greetings all from The Unspoiled Queen.

Just took a peek outside to see what the temp was on our porch and had to tap it a few times to see if it was reading correctly a cool 63* f. Temps during the daytime rise up in the high 70's and low 80's, winds have been calm for about a week now but there are some heavy swells being generated by Epsilon oh me gone.
The lights from Sxm, Eux and Sbh are crystal clear this morning.
Rainfall that I have accumalated for the month of November stands at 2 1/2 inches bringing the total for the year so far to 43". Sea Dream 1 paid us a visit yesterday and the island was bustling with tourists lots of hikers doing the trails and some taking a tour of the island.

WX TODAY IS VERY WARM AND TEMPS ARE IN THE LOW EIGHTIES, VIS IS +10 MILES AND NO CLOUDS AROUND AT THIS TIME, WINDS ARE BLOWING FROM THE ESE AT ABOUT 12 KTS.

Greetings.

Alpha is now inland on the island of the Dominican Republic with sustained winds of 50 mph. As the system passed over our area on friday there was a reported wind gust at the airport of 77 knots which is around 85 mph. No damages were reported during that time but overnight 2 small fishing vessels sank while at there moorings.
Today temps are in the 80's and the sun has found it's way out once again.
The island is very lush and tropical and the seas have subsided somewhat but still a stiff breeze blowing from the SSE at 13 to 20 Kts

Hey all.

The winds outside are very strong and I estimate them to be close to 30 mph with gusts well over T.S force, no rain at this time. Leaves and limbs should be all over the place by daylight.
The moon has appeared.
It looks as if Wilma will be hanging onto Mexico and surrounding areas for awhile as forward movement is down to 3 mph, not good news.
Cable T V has been out since early yesterday morning, what a thing.

Rest easy

Hello all
Just a short one today.
Winds have been very strong from the ssw all day and it has been raining off and on. There has not been any flights landing due to the adverse weather conditions and poor visibility. The rain forest is very lush and tropical and not so good for the climbers at this time. Temps have been on the cool side due to the overcast conditions mid to low seventies.
This system could very well make history as it enters the caribbean sea.
We are also getting the emissions from Montserrat.
We are praying for those who are in the path of Wilma that they can be guided safely through

Hey Linny,Sue, Arturo< and Chad me son.

Best regards,

Hey all.

Just another short one.
Wx had improved this morning for flights to land but as the day progressed the winds became more stronger in velocity from the south south west and flights have been cancelled for the rest of the day I did make a mistake on the 10th instead of flights I put fights which I do apologize.
No rain today just some sunshine and lots of humidity.
Seas down at the harbor are looking a bit on the rough side with some swells once again effecting that area.

Take care Sue and Pete.

No rain fall today and it was on the cool side due to very overcast conditions. Some of the fishermen have returned from St Maarten as sea conditons have improved. So far for the month of October I have recorded over 6 inches of rain and I am sure that there has fallen a lot more on other locations on the island. Winds today have been much calmer than yesterday but still in a south to south westerly direction.
Hey Linny glad you enjoy keeping up to date with whats going on on Saba.

Temps are in the eiighties.
Some of the boat owners decided to seek safer shelter over on St.Maarten yesterday as the seas and southerly swells where effecting around the harbor at Fort Bay

Take your warnings seriously and leave nothing to doubt.
Protect what is yours.
We here in the caribbean have been through some rough ones and we know how it feels. Please protect what you have worked for all your life and do not forget life is precious. Here on Saba the weather has been excellent great for the hikers and divers alike.
Visibility underwater has been over the 100 foot mark on any given day.
The mountain has been very clear and the rain forrest is very lush and tropical great for those hikers and photographers.
So far 3 inches of rain has fallen for the month of August in my vicinity.

Do not let your guard down as the hurricane peak has not arrived as of yet.

Best regards and stay safe

Weather pattern is back to normal with a brisk trade wind blowing. (around 15 kts ) 80% of the islands are visisble today and there are a few clouds hanging around. Great weather conditions for the scuba divers and mountain climbers, or for those who would hike on the many trails that Saba has to offer.

Greetings all from the Unspoiled Queen.

Hurricane Emily may be some distance from our location but yesterday afternoon and during the night time hours the outter bands made their presence known in our area with gusty winds and some rain showers. At 11 : 15 am this morning Saba experienced another outter band with very strong winds (25kts +)
and rain showers. Distant thunder can be heard at this time.
Some owners of fishing vessels sailed to St. Maarten for the shelter of the lagoon. Small fishing vessels from the fishermans pier have been taken out and secured on land.
Winds have subsided at this time and so has the rain showers.

Winds yesterday where out of the south during the afternoon and night time hours around 17 to 25 kts. Not much rain to talk about on this side of the island, southerly winds brought a sulpher smell from the Montserrat volcano which lasted well into the night time hours.

Winds today at the airport are blowing from the S.S.E at 15 to 20 kts, visibility is gretaer than 10 km.

Season is getting active and all interests should monitor their local weather stations.

At my location an amount of 7 3/4 inches has been measured and I am sure lots of other locations have seen more than this amount.
It is now hurricane season remember to be aleart of your surroundings and listen to those meteroligists.
The island is in full bloom with fruits and flowers all over.
Hey Linny today is on the hazy and windy side lots of white caps out there, visibility down to a minimum.

best regards

Vince

Hello all and greetings from the Unspoiled Queen.
Weather over the past few weeks has been sunny , rainy (over six inches so far at my location) hot and humid.
Winds have been blowing from various directions.
The Unspoiled Queen is very lush and tropical and all cisterns are full to over flowing.
Congrats to the population of Montserat it has been a long time.

best regards

Vince

Hi all from The Unspoiled Queen.

The total amount of rain fall for the month of April that I have recorded is 5 1/2 inches.
This has brought up the level of water to full in most cisterns and the island has started to take on that lush and tropical green again.
The repairs to the harbor have been completed.

Keep safe
Hey Linny wish you where here.
Vince
