I have some other good pictures of the April 19th's solar phenomena
the halo was seen since 9 30 am when it become to appear till 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon
it was an awesome sight !!

FYI, there is no big or medium rain in Fort de France since three or four weeks, and the weather is excellent for going to the beach.

Since Friday the weather changed for good, less clouds
and more sun in the sky arrived. Of course there were
some rain like today in the afternoon, just a little
refreshing since last two days were very dry. And it
is expecting the same weather in the next days.
I've read the last NHC forecast and discussion, it
seems to be a certain danger for our Leeward Islands
with Lisa, I hope this Storm will continue the way
north as Karl did.
Notwithstanding, we can't ignored the large tropical
disturbance located a few hundred miles southeast of
Lisa that can induce her to moves southward since it
seems to become more and more grow and well
defined/developed.
I hope this will not happen, we have to watch the
progress of these two phenomenon closer the next days

Here in martinique for some people was like a new
spectacle to see, people in the beach waiting for the
first signs, etc, etc.
At least all people agree that we were just lucky
again!!!
My prayers are from Grenada, Saint Vincent who were
the less fortunate yesterday and also for people in
Bonaire, Curacao et Aruba.

1020 am the sky is getting more and more grey cloudy and the sun have just lost his battle with them, wind is getting worst by moments. Here in Fort de France there are no rains yet, I can listen some cars in the streets and a curious thing : my neighborhood in the third floor continue making a lot of noise with his tools as he did last whole week, for him is just a good time for re- building his apartment. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? by this moment the wind is a little stronger than
yesterday and the sun that was shining early this
morning is now almost covered by black clouds
Since yesterday we began to feel low wind streghtnhess
since we haven't had in the last days any wind and
some showers. Now is like the sun is trying to impose
himself but there are a lot of clouds surrounding him.
I read that it is supposed to pass through grenadines,
and Saint vincent and we will only feel it us a
tropical Storm. but I can't help to be afraid of the
sound of the wind its force makes some trees moving a
little, there are more black clouds coming and soon it
will be like night here.

the first advisory ("prealerte cyclone", which was nammed before alerte n°1) is
declared since 2hPM. the people begin to understand that something is coming
wich is not a joke .... at the last report from NOAA, Ivan is coming WNW and has
crossing 10.4 to 10.9 north... bad sign to us: if the hurricane is coming on
this way, it will be there tomorow.... and the people does not seems to be ready
to receive the monster.
candles, matches, mineral water, batteries, cans, are dropped from supermarkets
since this morning, witch is also the school entry day ....

I've just come back from supermarket and there was a
lot of people there, after yesterday's night advise
all people were fulling supermarkets today since 8:30
am, obviously water, batteries, torchs, plywood, etc
etc, where the products the most required. But we are
still waiting some TV news, I know we are in hurricane
watch now. nothwithstanding more information is
needed.
Sky is blue there is some wind, the sun is shinning
but I can't help thinking that tomorrow all of that
will change.

it is 8 oclock and they have just advise one hour ago
about hurricane Ivan here
I know a lot of people have just realized about it,
and some of them still think that will go down or up
but not here
Tomorrow authorities will begin all the normal
procedure.
By this moment the night is calm there is no so much
wind, it is a little hot here but tha will change in
two nights.

hello Dominique BRUCH talking from Martinique report from sunday, 09/5th noon after a week with a high temperature and without rain (all clouds were vacued by Frances since few days), people are ready and wait to receive IVAN. commercial centers and woodcraft stores are ready to sale tools and equipment to preserve homes and offices. on this last sunday before school re-entry, the most part of families are staying on the sea side. next report on next 24 hours Dominique BRUCH |

Today I woke up knowing that Ivan was an Hurricane Cat
1; probably Cat 2-3 when approaching/passing through
us. -up or down is the same after all-
I also wanted to register on my mind the sky as it is
now so beautiful!! since I know tuesday or wedsnesday
the view will be totally different. By the way this
last two weeks were the hottest ones with 32- 33 C
degrees while Frances was at the east and then finally
went north.
I began to prepared some things here "just in case"
since yesterday.
I should have said that I was monitoring him since
last thrusday.
I hope people here will be really prepared, since now
it doesn't seem to. Information here seems to be for
the last minute.
I agree lesser Antilles island's people are usually
ignored.
I should have said also that, this will be my first
hurricane and this website is helping me knowing
experiences of other people, and being well-prepared.
As southamerican married with a french and living here
since last year, Hurricane's thing are for me a new
product; and also for my husband who has being living
the last ten years in Paris and doesn't remember very
well this kind of phenomenon since his last experience
was at the age of 8.
I hope Ivan is not going to be remembered as "El
terrible".

Hi to every body in the caribbean. This is Stéphanie from Martinique where a tropical storm warning has been in effect since 5:00 pm. It was very very hot here today and we have experienced a few showers since 7:00pm. Now it's quiet and we can see some lightnings from time to time. The depression is expected for the late evening , early morning .
