So far, thankfully, just rain and some strong gusts of wind.

The worst Wind and Rain seemed to be in mid afternoon at about 1500 Hrs Local and that was on South Side - North Side was relatively benign.  Some impressive wave action on South Side through afternoon which even prompted some local Surfers to go out!!

Now TD is mostly past us, although still a dark and windy night - still have 4-6 ft waves on South Side but no more than on a normal stormy day. Power has been on throughout - no indications of outages.

Guess tomorrow it will be down with the shutters and move stuff outside again - this last 3-4 weeks has been busy in that respect!! Still, End of Season soon come. There are, sadly, people somewhere in the world, having a much rougher night than us for one reason or another, so we can be thankful for small mercies.

Time for me to go softly into the night - the Sandman is crawling all over my eyelids and tomorrow is another working day.

Take Care all in the Path of TD 14.

It is 4:30pm and by the looks of the traffic coming home, most are taking
the advise of the CI gov't to let their staff go home at 3 pm. Today it has
been overcast to dark with rain and then it gets bright and the sun even
peeked through for a while - not long. Now it is getting darker in the south
and southwest - although in the east and southeast it is lighter and I can
see the low clouds moving in a northly direction at a good speed. Although I
am inland, I believe that in the south part of the island the wind is much
stronger as well as wave action. My little weather monitor says winds E/SE
at about 15 mph - gusting higher at times. People, I believe are braced for
tropical storm winds and are making their way to their homes. The outside
looks like a down pour any minute - but none so far. I can still hear
aircraft taking off, so I do not think any flights have been cancelled. But
who knows what will happen later. More later.......Donna

Good Morning...........
All well here in Grand Cayman, few showers through the night but it has been dry for several hours now. Winds are gusting in the 30-35 knot area. According to our services here, the storm is located 135 miles South of Grand Cayman moving NNE at 7mph. The closest approach to Grand Cayman they say will be this afternoon at 1pm when the Tropical Depression will be approx. 50 miles from us........................................hang on to your hatches! Currently we have Cloudy gray skies, with intermittent squalls we are expect rains, thunder and showers perhaps heavy at times. Temperatures went down to 77 last night....................love that cool stuff, briefly mind you, and are expected to be in the 80's today. Lots of gusting winds, wave heights are still in the 7-10 ft. range.

Schools and preschools are closed today as the Hurricane Committee met this a.m. at 5 and have asked all schools to remain closed today. They will report on whether business should close early later this a.m.  The Hurricane Committee will meet again at 10 a.m. to further update us as necessary.

Thanks all we have for now...........the Sister Islands will more than likely experience heavy rains for the most part today as they will be even closer to the storm system....................

Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! expecting the sun to return to our beautiful paradise on Thursday.....wishful thinking!!!!!

9pm Report Tropical Storm #14

Well, hasnt rained in a couple hours, sprinkled, but not raining as we had earlier here in Grand Cayman. Hurricane Committee met at 4:30pm and reported to us at 6pm that they would again be meeting at 5am and would advise us at 6am of their meeting. We will remain on Tropical Storm Warning and await their next update. Winds have increased dramatically over the past several hours as has the wave heights. Wave heights are in the 7-12ft. range on the South side of the island. Went out to the grocery store and many shopping but alot of tourists here and are watchful but not overly concerned as i would say we islanders feel. Not a time to let the guard down........we seem to have trouble with the storms that begin with the letter "M" remember Mitch, Michelle bad ones..........................and although Marco has not officially been named, we are watching closely! M's have a history of giving us trouble! Howling winds continue and a nice cool breeze to boot!

Will report more in the a.m. as we get it. Until then...............see ya!

4pm Update Tropical Storm Marco

Hi All.....................man.........here we go again! Imagine...............to many storms to close together I say!
Anyhow, yes, we are currently getting alot of rain, cloudy skies island wide and wind howling a bit. Wave heights on the South Side are betweed 5-7ft and increasing quickly! Schools closed at 12 noon today because of the Tropical Storm Warning being issued for all the Islands and will in all probability be closed tommorrow. The Hurricane Committe are meeting as I type (4:30) and will update following that meeting perhaps 6pm.

The center of Tropical Depression Fourteen was located near Lattitude 17.8 NORTH...Longitude  83.0 WEST
or about 150 miles...240 KM...Southwest of Grand Cayman Island. However, as i write, the storm is STATIONARY, we dont like when they do that, that can mean they are gaining strength!

More later as always..................stay tuned!

Well, still experiencing rain sqawls, not so bad thou they are off and on....................the sun  managed to peak out at us this a.m. ! That was exciting to see! Waves remain 3-5' sometimes in the 7' range on the south side of Grand Cayman with a nice constant breeze, something we are not accustom to. I bet by Wed/Thurs the weather here will be back to beautiful sunny skies here in paradise. No damages to report here in Grand Cayman, if any, they will be minimal. Cayman Brac received some down trees and power lines but they too are back in business. Little Cayman was lucky to have power throughout the storm and we have not heard of any damages there.  We have all been blessed and thankful for it! We wish all our friends in Louisana & Texas best of luck our prayers are with all of you as Lili approaches!

NO RAIN right now anyway! Thanks to whomever is responsible for that. Not sure how the rest of the day will play out, but for now it looks good.

- 8:30 Update Lili
  • From: "Lisa Blomgren" <blmgrn AT candw.ky>
  • Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 20:40:41 -0500
The National Hurricane Committee of the Cayman Islands has just given us their update.  All Schools will remain closed for tommorrow, Government offices will open but at a later start time.  The delayed start time for tommorrow a.m. for Government offices is due to the expected poor weather conditions which we can plan on greeting us in the a.m.

The Hurricane Warning for the Cayman Islands will remain in effect throughtout and the Hurricane Committee will meet again at 4:30 a.m. to assess conditions etc. for tomorrow (Tuesday).

Right now the storm is 81 miles North of us, close, and we are experiencing strong winds, which they say will gust to between 50-60 mph into the evening. From between 10pm and 2pm Grand Cayman should expect to receive extreme weather conditions whereas weather conditions during that same time frame should begin to lessen in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Winds during the night should begin to come from the South, so coastal conditions are expected to worsened rapidly.
Flooding continues to be a great concern for low lying areas etc.

As with Isidore, Lili seems to be repeating Isidore's conditions in that as they begin to pass or weather conditions deteriorate quickly and with much more intensity. Winds right now are howling....................with strong wind gusts.

Will update more later....................................................

Grand Cayman is bedding down with a smile after again missing the track of a hurricane by just miles. Little Cayman and Cayman Brac took a hit but only wind damage and very little compared to what could have been in a direct hit of a storm. A little tree damage, some roof damage...but no people or massive damage...it is a good day in bedrock around these three very blessed Islands. Have a good night and fear not for any friends or family around here. In fact call them... the telephone lines are up and working!

Yes...........we are still here!
It is raining steady now, heavy down pours pretty standard, winds have picked up substantially. Things are really well here considering and I do believe we again have been blessed, and spared any major damages. We certainly expected to have heavier weather conditions, but are giving thanks to all those prayer warriors out there! Everyone on the island prepared well with no complacency. Took a drive around earlier today (3pm) and nothing really notable to report, rain yes, winds yes, seas remain on the calm side at least on this the (south) side of the island for now. Wondering how the rest of the evening will go for us? All stores etc. closed at 3pm however gas stations were still fully operational. No loss of power, phone lines etc. all fully intact. Will update you as the storm shifts.......wondering if it will again be more significant a storm as it passes then when its upon us!
Stay tuned..........................

- HURRICANE LILI - CAYMAN BRAC - 1600 HRS LOCAL
  • From: "MB" <mbar-cyb AT candw.ky>
  • Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 16:42:12 -0500
This Report is being sent from my office at Brac Informatics Centre (we have
Stand By Power Generator)instead of from Home, as Mains Power has been off
on the Brac since early morning.

The South Side of the Brac was subjected to Hurricane Force Winds (Sustained
76 MPH Gusting 85-90 MPH), high seas (10-15 Ft) and heavy Rainfall from
early morning today. At times, visibility over the Ocean was down to about
150 Ft as Rain and Spray swept in from the SE, the S and the SW. The Sights
and Sounds of Wind, Driven Rain and Waves were, frankly, humbling (and LILI
is not the worse Hurricane I have been in by any means.

I considered it relatively safe to emerge from my House (on the South Side)
at about 1130 this morning. On the drive around the Island, the following
points struck me:

The Main Shelter (Aston Rutty Centre) was well occupied - people took
Lili
seriously!

A large number of Houses had Shutters or Plywood coverings up - no
complacency this time.

Many less felled trees than ISIDORE - I suspect that ISIDORE stripped
much
of the foliage off branches, so on this occasion, Trees and Shrubs offered
less Wind Resistance and survived better.

Apparently less Power Poles felled (Cayman Brac Power and Light
personnel
are out assessing Damage and Repair Requirements at this time - no
forecast
for Mains Power Restoration has been issued as yet.

Many Phone Lines down; nevertheless, I successfully made an
International
Call to UK this morning and, at work we have made a few Conference
Calls to
USA - down or not,the Lines seem to work!

Although I did not travel around the whole Island (I did not go to the
North East Part of the Island)- in the portions that I saw there was very
little structural damage to properties.

The Hotels and Condos appear to have fared well and Dive Operations
look in
good shape to resume as soon as the weather improves (regardless of the
fact that underwater visibility will be poor for days to come). The
Tourists I met seemed to be in good spirits and were being well looked after
and entertained by Hotel and Dive Operations Staff - one Tourist actually
joked with me, saying "This puts a whole new meaning on the phrase "All
Inclusive" - if I let my Travel Agent know about LILI - he will want to
charge me extra". :-) Well Done the Brac Reef Beach Resort Management &
Staff.

All Roads I travelled were passable with care - some deep puddles but
no
major Flooding - it should not take Public Works long to clean up what
debris there is.

Current conditions are low grey clouds (moving rapidly), light rain and
strong breeze - the small birds are flying around the sky chasing down
insects - just bring on some sunshine and blue sky soon.

Have just spoken with Police Station - thankfully, no reports of Injury.
They added that Public Works had already cleared felled trees on the North
East Road and are now continuing around the Island. Additionally, it is
expected that approximately 75-80% of the Brac will have Mains Power within
3-4 Hours - Good News indeed!

All for Now

Have heard varied reports frrom Cayman Brac, power was turned off last night as the storm was approaching, have heard of alot of roof damages, lines & trees down........but await a new update shortly.  The seas here is unchanged from earlier, still flat calm, winds have picked up and the sound of people boarding up is steady.

It is 9:45 am - here on Grand Cayman the winds are not that bad at all
(really it seems very lite based on how close we are). Just a sprinkling of
rain and very over cast. I went to the supermarket this morning and it is
packed. All businesses are closed and we have been advised that the eye will
pass us to the northeast around mid day. So people are running around this
morning. Cayman Brac on the other hand is reporting that they are in the eye
of the storm. They have had heavy winds with trees and some roofs off. They
are urged to stay indoors! Have not heard of what rain they are having in
Cayman Brac. Their electric is reported to be off or shut down. We should
know more later. Thanks

It was a beautiful morning................we just got a bit of a shower, nothing much thou, next to no wind, seas calm......but they would be with things out of the north atleast on this side (south) at Ocean Club. Seas very calm as was the case yesterday.............I expect that people will be bussling about today, All schools, government offices and preschools are closed due to the storm. All non-essential businesses have been asked to close, due to the storm. People are concerned on one hand, but on the other feel we again may be lucky and may just get a bit of weather from Lili. We will all soon see, we should be feeling things here around Noon or atleast by that time. Gray cloud cover has greeted us this a.m. no breeze to speak of. I'm sure allot of people will be doing last minute preparations and running to the grocery store.............................

  • Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 00:58:25 -0500
The "Wee Hours" of Monday 30 Sep 02 - this Report is only based on what is happening on the South Side

Good news is that I managed to watch the US Formula Grand Prix today - Satellite Reception held good :-)

We are now all braced for what may be HURRICANE  LILI :-(

Despite a wonderful Sunset off to the West on Sunday evening,  we have had Bands of Rain Squalls (strong) complete with Thunder. Lightning and heavy rain since about 5.30PM on Sunday. These lasted until approximately 1120 PM last night  - now , we have an eerie calm (even got stars in the sky to East and West) with relatively gentle cool breezes from the East. South Side has beautiful gleaming Waves cresting in - the whole scene is dangerously misleading - looks like "another blissful night in Paradise". Certain parts of the South Side Road are already showing signs of flooding and the "Ponds" are brim full - there is nowhere for the Rain to go to.

New Group of Guests (arrived PM Sat 28 Sep) Tourists in Brac Reef Beach Resort Hotel remarkably pragmatic and "upbeat" about the whole deal - attitude seems to be "book a Caribbean Holiday in Sep/Oct and you have to take your chances".

Forecast looks ominous for us on Cayman Brac, but frankly no more can be done to prepare. Have just made sure that Brac Informatics Centre (BIC) Staff (some at Home - some "locked down" at work) are aware of latest situation and what LILI may bring within the next 5-6 Hours - we have gone through all our Contingencies yet again -  as the saying goes "Practice Makes Perfect" - and, we have had quite a lot of practice in the last 2 weeks!!

Everyone is prepared - now the wait starts!

Am going to grab some sleep while I can.  Hope to provide an update tomorrow sometime (from somewhere - depending on survivability of Mains Power and Communications).

So far here in Cayman it is very sunny,,,the breeze has not changed much from this morning...but the sea is getting choppy. Some of the homes are starting to board up. It is very hot here. Not to much breeze. We are on Tropical Storm watch right now. People donot seem to concerned....Lots of people on the beach, riding about.

A typical Sunday afternoon,,,we'll see and we'll let you know.

Well, a Tropical Storm Warning has now been extended to cover all 3 islands. Still a beautiful day, gray skies are off in the distance, seas dead calm, slight breeze but all in all a beautiful day in paradise!

People here on Grand Cayman are going about business  as usual, playing at the beach, enjoying the afternoon in the pool, having a barbacue, shopping or just lying in a hammock reading.  Not to worry, the lingering storm is on everyone's mind but no one is rushing around in a panic....we are all seemingly prepared which hopefully a good sign.

Stay tuned!

The Cayman Government has just issued a Tropical Storm Watch for Grand
Cayman. Looking at the 11:00 am Discussion from the NHC is more than a
little frightening for those of us living in the Cayman Islands, as as Lili
has now formed an 8-11 mile diameter eye, even though it is only a 55mph
Tropical Storm. The Discussion also says that small Tropical Storms that
form an eye usually intensify quickly. However but that they do not expect
that to happen immediately (i.e. not within the next 12 hours) due to the
proximity to Jamaica. The NHC is also saying that upper level conditions are
favourable as there is light shear, which is expected to continue for a
while. Clearly there is going to be significant risk to the Cayman Islands
until Lili clears our area (which at 5-7 mph forward speed is not going to
until Tuesday.

In talking with native Caymanians over the past couple of days, there seems
to have been a strong sense of concern regarding Lili, as several friends
have told of the older folks talking about a hurricane coming, particularly
people from Cayman Brac. These old folks by the way don't watch TV or check
the Internet! A few months ago there was an outbreak of what are called
"Hurricane Crabs" on the Brac, which had not been seen in a long long time.
Millions and millions of tiny crabs came out of the sea and were trooping
across the roads, through yards, into houses etc. It was quite a scene and
was reported on the local television and in the newspapers as well. The old
timers say that is a sign of a hurricane coming, and hence the name
"Hurricane Crabs"

Right now (10:30 am on Sunday morning) the only visible hint here on Grand
Cayman that something may be coming is the fact that the wind is a little
bit too much to the north for this time of year. Otherwise, we have partly
cloudy skies, with tall cumulus (white shading to gray) with patches of
cirrus, but certainly nothing threatening, and no rain yet. It will be a
stressful time over the next 24-48 hours as Lili passes through.

Hi guys......................
Clouds are now rolling in, we've got the gray coverage back, breeze has picked up however, Grand Cayman will only be on Tropical Storm Watch which has not been posted as yet but they say later this a.m. it will be. Cayman Brac and Little Cayman may be upgraded to Tropical Storm very soon. Other than that, seas remain flat calm.

  • From: "MB" <mbar-cyb AT candw.ky>
  • Date: Sat, 28 Sep 2002 23:02:51 -0500
Cayman Brac is prepared for TS LILI although all indicators put the Eye about 110 miles North of us in approximately 28 hours.

It has been a very pleasant day on the Brac today with sunshine and light winds - Divers have been Diving and Sightseers have been Sightseeing (Workers have been Working!).  The shops have been serving customers as usual yesterday and today - there have been no signs of any panic buying and, to a large extent, the Brackers remain calm about TS LILI; however, no one that I have spoken with is taking anything for granted.

Local Govt Offices were able to undertake all Planned Actions and Pre-Positioning in an orderly manner throughout the afternoon of Fri 27 Sep 02.

This evening, at about 7.00PM, there was a spectacular Lightning Storm far to the East which was probably was the Outer Bands of TS LILI. We started to experience some heavy rain, with Thunder and Lightning, at approximately 8.30 PM (lasted for about 20 minutes) and we have had 2-3 repetitions of the same to date. These Rain Storms have not been accompanied by any significant winds. At this very moment (10.42 PM), it is calm and clear but the next Band of Rain Clouds can easily be seen to the East as they are illuminated by Lightning. On the South Side, Wave Action is only very slightly stronger than usual.

To be brutally frank, my main "worry", at the moment, is whether or not I will be able to watch the US Grand Formula 1 Prix on Satellite TV tomorrow midday.  All preparations for TS LILI have been made both, at the Brac Informatics Centre and at home.

All have a peaceful sleep - tomorrow is another day

mostly sunny and hot with a nice breeze. Outside now is calm - do not see
any thing coming our way yet! Although I would think we will get some rain,

Well, in Grand Cayman we are patiently waiting for LiLi to decide it's next
move since it is basically stationary near Jamaica. We are worried because
we know that our two sister islands 80 miles from here (Cayman Brac and
Little Cayman) are on a Tropical Storm Watch, but Grand Cayman is not out of
danger since the storm could start moving in this direction anytime. We
understand that Lili could strengthen into a hurricane and move in this
direction, but we are kind of calm this time, at least our friends and
family are. I think it is because T.S. Isadore was here pounding us with
heavy rain and winds for four days just last week so we feel kind of calm in
a sad mood of "we could be hit by this storm but what else is new".

Forecasts are not promising for Cayman Brac and we can only hope that the System does not slow down any more and that we do not see any further drops in Pressure.

Govt Facilities on the Brac have put up Hurricane Shutters. Shutters on my House, as well as at Brac Informatics Centre will be up tomorrow AM. All Emergency Power Systems and Fuel checked.

Current weather can be best described as "sullen" - hot sunny, humid, very still and with a glassy smooth ocean - even on the South Side of the Island which is rare - the "lull before the Storm"?? Some Rain clouds skirting the North & South of the Island but that is nothing unusual for this time of year.

Heartfelt thanks to the men and women of Cayman Brac Power & Light Co Ltd and Cable & Wireless for their unstinting efforts to restore utilities to the Island following our brush with ISIDORE

LILI may "soon come" but tonight is Friday so it is Happy Hour soon :-)

Morning traffic will no doubt be slow going due to flooding. All power seems

but very brief........before we new it is was back on. The satellites have
been restored and we are back to tuning in to our TV's for Weather Channel

It is 7:30 pm and just came back from a drive around. It is still raining
but not as hard as earlier - the wind is not as strong - roads are flooded
and you have to be very careful. South Sound is rough but not coming over
the road at all. George Town Harbour is rough - looks much like a NorWester
- but not coming over the dock. Seven Mile Beach is rough but the water is
not high. High tide is shortly, so do not know if that will make a
difference. Could not see any damage to property other than a lot of yards
are full of water. We avoided obvious places that are low areas which I am
sure are very under water. But all in all I think we have survived the storm
very well, in my opinion. Do not know what this evening or tomorrow will
bring but at the moment the wind and rain is slowing. It will be slow going

sheets. From a drive around some roads are under water. George Town harbour
is not that rough yet - the wind is now out of the west. The wind speed is
not that bad either maybe 20-30 or so mph. The storm is just north of us so
maybe more wind to come. Reports from a Cayman Brac friend is that power has

Conditions have worsened at this point, winds are howling, lots of rain is sheets so to speak. Reminds me of the white out conditions that I use to experience in the states from the snow. Visability is horrible, waves have increased and are 3-5 ft. winds have increased dramatically at this point. Lots of water pooling throughout the center area of the grass  in front of the boardwalk toward the buildings, no waves coming over the wall, just buildup of water from the heavy rains here it is a far forward on the left side of the complex if your looking directly at the ocean as 5ft. Waves may be even in the 6ft. range but not higher than that. more to come...............

Morning.........well the heaven have opened up now for sure. We are now experiencing 30-40 mph winds with rain. Sea is really not bad at all on this side, the harbour in GeorgeTown is rough but not near as bad as it has been in storms of the past. The storm is reported to be 45 miles away from us with the center passing us right now. We are very lucky....Thanks to all for their prayers! stay tuned

Evening now 7:41pm..................still very calm, slight winds seas have picked up a bit, intermittent sprinkling but nothing major. 5 Units here at Ocean Club have boarded up with plywood, all of us waiting as the calm is ery. Having trouble with our server (Cable & Wireless) not able to receive email and having trouble sending as well as simply logging onto the internet...............hopefully they will sort that out before to long. Here's hoping we get lucky, but time will tell. Wishing our friends in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman an easy time of it as the storm passes. Until later.............................

Hi..................
Safe to say at this point we've lost our blue skies, clouds cover is island wide, intermittent showers are now happening but have had some discussions on the fact that it may pass by to the north of us............................hoping as Frank said that it does not sit on us for a couple days as did Mitch.....................people have moved into high gear in preparation for whatever may come. Waves have picked up as has the wind....................still not alarming thou. Stay tuned!

Well it is about 7 pm and it is strangely calm out side - well at least
where I am - which is not really near the sea. We had a rain shower about 5
pm but nothing since. Since I am on the canal and exposed to wind I have
shuttered the house and we have secured the boats in the canal. So at least
I can get a good nites sleep. But only time will tell as to just how much of
this storm we will get. A friend and myself had problems getting on to our
e-mail server(something wrong at Cable and Wireless). Even had a problem
getting onto the Internet to view the weather map and of course do e-mail.
So if this continues we may not be able to get any messages to you.
Hopefully it won't. Thanks Donna

3:15 Wed 18th Sept.

So far just light showers and breezes. The sky looks ominous and the
satellite picture even more so. Let's hope it goes between the islands and
doesn't intensify too much. Offices are closed and people are doing what
they need to do. If Isidore continues moving as slow as it is, we will have
a full day of bad weather before it moves off. Let's hope it doesn't pull a
"Mitch" on us, and sit over us for a couple of days.

Hi Everyone
Well, everyone is moving now! Schools have now been officially closed as of 12pm, so that shuttering of those buildings can take place and shelters can be set up in them. Have been out to the stores etc. VERY BUSY indeed, everyone is calm but get all the necessary supplies to ready ourselves for this p.m. Many boats on trailers being moved for safety, and plywood, yep buying that up too. It is a beautiful day all in all, blue skies, some clouds scattered, not much breeze and the seas on this side (south) are calm as i reported earlier. Its a bit of an ery feeling, one of uncertainty here.........................evident in all of us.
Will report more later.................thanks for all your emails and prayers!!

The latest report is that the systems center will pass between Grand Cayman
and the Sister Islands tomorrow morning. We should experience tropical storm
winds around midnight tonight. It is located 195 miles east/southeast of us
with winds at 45 mph. At present here it is overcast with a little rain, I
can still see some blue skies here and there and the wind is calm, that is
in my part of the island - in town. More later. Donna

Well the Cayman Islands on on Tropical Storm Watch - the system is located
323 miles southeast of us moving west/northwest. Our weather people say we
should, at the present speed, start getting Tropical Storm winds late
tomorrow evening (Wed.) as it is expected to grow to tropical storm status
over this evening. Our hurricane committee will met again at 4 am tomorrow
morning to review the latest information and will advise the public of
further storm information. More Later. Donna

We here in the Cayman Islands are keeping a sharp eye on this one. The
general population seems to be aware of the possible danger and are taking
it seriously, unlike Michell which was virtually ignored. Personally, I have
just now finished the repairs/renovations from Michelle's rampage and
needless to say, I am not relishing the thought of a repeat performance, or
worse.

I just spoke to a lady in Kingston Jamaica, and she said it was raining
heavily, but with very little wind. Here on grand Cayman at 5:30 on Tuesday
the 18th, the winds are light, around 8-10 mph at the most, and partly
cloudy.

It will be a stressful period over the next couple of days and there will be
a lot of a lot of praying.
Stay Tuned.

Here in the Cayman Islands the weather just perfect, at the present time -
sunny and hot. Our weather people have announced that the outer bands of
rain from TD 10 will effect us this evening with rain and thunder/lighting
and some gusty winds in the showers. Further updates I guess they will give
us later. We here will look for weather information from our friends to the
east of us - Jamaica. So keep us informed. Thanks, Donna
