- Re-Joyce!

Joyce is passing far south of St. Lucia - with nominal impact to our
island -

Here, in the Rodney Bay area in the north, we are experiencing scattered
showers, normal eastern winds, and generally overcast skies. Surf is up
a bit here on the west coast that is usually calm, but nothing like
Lenny last year. It's just a generally yucky day.

We'd rather have this than a big storm though! We hope our neighbors to
the south fare well.

Saving any other breaking news, this will be my last update regarding
Joyce.

It is another beautiful sunny day here, looks like lucky St. Lucia will
continue their streak of missing storms.

Now, what to do with all this bottled water!?!

- Joyce puts St. Lucia on Watch

As of 8am, St. Lucia is on a tropical storm watch.

Not many visible preparations being made here on island, but it is early
yet on a Saturday morning. Local radio broadcasts inform of the storm,
so we expect to see more action today. Will keep you informed -

Normal sunny day here today with scattered showers.

- St. Lucia in Denial
  • From: Michael & Julie Connolly <connollyj AT candw.lc>

Though warnings have been issued on all surrounding islands, St. Lucia
remains in denial, with no warnings or watches issued as of Saturday
morning.

Locals are primarily unaware of the incoming storm or if they know about
it, they state they hope it will pass by. There is still plenty of
bottled water and batteries in the store as not many people have made
preparations.

Hotels were filling sandbags on Friday to prepare.

Weatherwise, Friday was the most beautiful day we've had in a week, no
rain and scattered clouds. Awoke Saturday morning to a beautiful red
sky (sailors take warning!) Experiencing showers this morning as well.

In the meantime, we're keeping an eye on the model runs!

- Debby clears St. Lucia easily

Debbie passed north of St. Lucia with little problems.

Monday was overcast with strong showers throughout the day, little to no
wind.
Monday evening at 5:00 pm, the clouds disappeared and the sun came out -
unnaturally still as there is absolutely no breeze. Little to no
showers overnight, nothing out of the ordinary.

As of 7 am Tuesday morning, it is bright, sunny, hot, and the breeze is
back. Good news for all the travelers stuck here. American has
canceled all flights through Puerto Rico, our only gateway to the US.
Tourists with plans to head north for the next few days will be staying
on island for a few days.
