Persistent overnight and early morning showers have cause
postponement and cancellation of various events across Barbados. Church services,
picnics, cultural events have been shelved for the day. Major retail businesses
including Cave Shepherd has closed their stores across the island.
The outcome of the Reggae on the Hill show remains in limbo
as organizers and Met Officials are still monitoring the weather system
affecting the island.
The department of Emergency Management has been updating
Barbadians on what is going on across the country. Callers to radio stations reported
collapsed walls, flooded canals, drains, roads, cars and houses mostly in the
southern part of the island.
