Bonaire Update

Danny and Weather News from Bonaire

Bon Tarde from the Dutch Caribbean

We had some nice rain this week in the south of Bonaire. A bit further north, my friends reported nothing at all. Spotty showers are so frustrating for most locals as we do need a good rain storm.

Everyone on Bonaire seems to be posting about Hurricane Danny which is a bit curious since it’s over 600km away and we are outside the hurricane belt. One can hope for some wind (for the windsurfers and kiters) and rain (for all).  I hope Danny brings much needed respite from the dry conditions to my neighbors to the East. Be safe all and be prepared.

Recently, it appears Sargassum has come ashore on Lac Bay. The piles are growing and the Sea Turtle Conservation is on hand to rescue the baby turtles stuck on shore in the mess. 7 babies were rescued the other day, so I am told.  The vigilance of this nature oriented community is outstanding and appreciated.

My gardener brought me a bunch of Guineps since the Lora’s ate my crop. The iguna’s are fighting me constantly and are winning. I have lost so many trees thanks to these creatures.  It’s been a rough season with the drought.

Pasa bon dushi wikent, tur hende

Have a great weekend, everyone

:)
