Anguilla Update

Anguilla

Good evening All,
We have still had not enough rain to keep the cisterns and pools topped up, but thankfully have also not had the full force of any tropical storms or depressions affecting us, long may that last.
The bad news is that for the 4th year my house on the Searocks has been broken into by opportunist ‘tiefs’. I do not have much to steal, so they do not take much but considering the business I bring to Anguilla, it is a great shame. I am personally responsible for the building of at least 5 Villas on Anguilla and more than 30 people a year come and stay at Hightop and I have been operating since 1989.
I am well aware of the privilege of having a home there and living in it for 6 months of the year but I also think that the Government of Anguilla ( and also a lot of the other islands) should appreciate the business brought in by snowbirds (or swallows as I am known as here). It is a sadness that I am sorry to report.
To keep everyone updated I hear via the grapevine that Gwen’s Reggae Grill has closed at it’s past location and is moving down to the west end of Shoal Bay East, I do hope the ambiance and music will be as good.
I will be back in Anguilla soon and in the meantime the small brown dog and I wish everybody well and lets hope storm free for the next six weeks or so.
A very good night to all,
JH
