Long sleeve shirt?  Check.  Jeans?  Check.  Socks?  Check.  It is chilly!

It is cool, damp, rainy and breezy!  What a perfect rainy day.  It started with force around 9:00 am.  Now it has tapered off a bit.  Lots of lovely rain for our little island and it should continue for a little while longer.  I haven’t heard of any flooding here in Vieques as I haven’t ventured out but I am sure there is some standing water on the roadways.  Tomorrow might be a great day to go check out our little waterfall with the dogs.

Have a great day,

K

- Update

It is nice and overcast right now with light rain.  So far so good.  All we have had are a couple of big gusts of wind and a gentle rain.  This is just what we ordered.  Since everybody rates everything in this world I would give Bertha a 4.5 out of 5 stars.  A little more gentle rain would have brought her to a perfect 5.

Esperanza Bay is kicking as usual.  Only one boat is out there.  Up here in Pilon the view of Mosquito Pier is obscured by drizzle.  Earlier the seas seemed flat on the Northside.

One last note, El Quenepo will be open tonight!  If you don’t feel like eating that emergency canned food that you purchased for this storm come dine with us!  You can save the canned food for another occasion.  Plus it will be fun to watch the waves in the bay from a dry location!

Have a wonderful rainy day,

K

This is what we need!  Rain!  She will be here tomorrow.  Since we moved away from the Malecon I no longer have to move hundreds of plants off the porch.  (The hubby is delighted!)  They are safe in Pilon at the new house.  I only need to secure a couple of loose items and stock some wine and settle in.  No word if they will cut the power tomorrow.  All flights and the ferry are operating today.  Will keep you posted on the rain levels and I will be watching the rain fall amounts on main island.  Fill those reservoirs without too much flash flooding please!

No word on business closures.  When I hear I will let you know.

Happy, happy for the rain!  And everybody be safe!

- 93L

Hi there everybody!  Just a quote vote for 93L to become “Drought Busting Bertha”!  We need the rain and the temptation is to take a storm to get it.  The garden is dry, the horses are thirsty and the fire hazard is terrible.  Please send some rain.  Nice and gentle at first to soak the ground.  Then a little more to really put some moisture back in the earth.  We will keep an eye on this little bit of hope for our parched island.
