Hi There,
We have a low pressure system over Venezuela with alot of rain and active thunder storms.The island is only seeing full cloud cover with a slight lack of wind but no wind...let's hope it returns.Not much rain at all this season so far but i am sure our fair share of rain will arrive soon..

Hi there you guy's,
Happy christmas and a drunken but safe New Year....Well not alot has been happening lately just wind and more wind and happy clients....... until yesterday....The biggest and longest periods of waves i have ever seen on the island of margarita for 10 yrs..please someone tell me where they came from...i need to know.
Surfing galore on the island..The boyz have been dodging the beach officials(they were stopping people bathing too dangerous) to get out on the water for a once in 10 yrs experience of some of the best,cleanest and narliest waves you'll ge on the island...rememeber there are 15 brilliant beaches on this island and 80% of them are surfable...so imagine..Today saw upto 4 m waves all over the North Coast...where are we?. Hawaii!!!!!!!...guy's it's going off here...Full moon New years party tomorrow night....love it...
Brilliant....Happy New Year to all of you...lets kick those Hurricanes asses this coming yr ..AGAIN..

Well high season is here with buckets and buckets of wind....it's clear and sunny every day ...keep it coming...
No sign whatsoever of war between Venezuela and Colombia ...it's all talk from the wonderful president we have running the country..no where near war not even close...don't beleive any news you hear
So get yourself to the island of wind....margarita ...see you all here soon..

Haven't chatted for a while...Still dry and Windy......Will it continue???That is the question..i expect some showers for Thursday through the weekend..let's see if it comes ..Lets hope it dosen't come because we have no risk of a water shortage so let's keep the dry weather ...which means wind for the kitesurfers...

Hi there,
It's incredible this yr as soon as a system comes into the Caribean it gets pounded by the Wind shear and pop..it's gone...but like we all are saying we can't smoke that fat cigar untill the fat lady sings and she has a little longer to go until that will happen..keep watching..!!!!!
Clear and sunny today with 85 degrees AM...another hot and sticky day,but hopefully with some wind to keep us kitesurfers happy and a bit cooler....stood on a frog fish two days ago..mighty painful but thats the seas for you...lot's of crazy and wonderful stuff living down there...foot like a golf club but getting better.....

Hi there,
What have we got here..coming straight towards Margarita island...I have been watching this Invest since yesterday morning not aware of it's convections etc..etc..and now i see we are directly in it's path.The area of disturbed weather is directly over Trinidad but isn't going to develop in the next 24 hrs to T.S status but like i say HEADS UP everyone....just incase...especially the towns in the mountains for the rain...always prone to serious flooding...and this system is moving fairly fast.The unfortunate thing is Margarita Island has an almost non existant forecasting system so no .one is aware of this threat to the island in the next 12 hours...Weve already had a shower this morning with alot of cloud building up and more on the way from where i can see in the direction of Trinidad..big black clouds..looming

Hi There,
Well haven't posted much in the last week,because again which is becoming more and more comon nothing has been happening.It really feels like February,clear skies and windy,people are asking we when the Rainy season is and i tell them ..it's now...it's quite ironic when it comes from a scotsmans mouth..i chukle too...you can imagine,if this is the wet season i can't wait to see the dry season..more epic wind to come in the next few days for us kitesurfers...yehaaaa..
Keep your eyes open...it's not over yet..stay safe .

All quiet here at the moment...high level thin cloud covering the full rays of the sun during the day but burning time is the same so watch out...Kitesurfers are all happy as larry...loads of wind for this time of year...hope we don't get a late hurricane season which really mess's it up for our high season of tourists..in November...may the peace the continue..

Hi There,
Today was a day of those Spectacular Cumulis Nimbus we get at this time of year which were all around us,at one stage we had such a change in wind direction and temperature we saw a couple of very small whirl winds on the beaches but couldn't call them small tornedo's but still very impressive.The amount of localised rain that came out of the storm clouds was amazing sheer colums of water...very,very localised meaning raining at one end of the village of el Yaque and not the other...we were the other..unfortunately for our gardens....
Tomorrow looks like another flat day with light winds..let's hope the wind returns soon..if not the kitesurfers will be going even crazier than they are already..

Hi there,
We have had our usual changing of wind for this time of year.When the wind direction goes from Easterly to Westerly,gives us a strange feeling here on Margarita island because the wind blows Easterly almost 95 % of the year.The rain came yesterday from the mainland and dumpted some rain on us ..the temperature changed by about 10 degress or more..what a difference...tops and long shorts but great weather for fishing.Also it was Hail stoning in Caracus i heard..There is some heavy weather around at the moment and more rain on the way in the next few days.
Well as i said lets kill Fred...and he's dead..another one down..i know we are no where near out of the woods yet but it really is turning into a record season for the most pathectic hurricanes for yrs...thats fine from where i am and also for all the other islands..Stay safe and play hard..

I know somewhere in the world at the moment life is nowhere near as good,but for all of us here in the Caribean i am sure everyone is with me when i say if we only have some rain to deal with at THIS time of the year,Were having it mighty fine indeed.....i know it's not good to count your chickens but really when it's this good..please enjoy..it's not a crime...Great wind,great weather,Tranquil waters and above all and most important....lets go for a different record..least Storms in one year....Great thought huh............Were breaking records here for most settled weather in the caribean for this time of year for the last 10 years or more.....keep it coming please....

Sunny ,windy 25 knots trade wind from the ESE....if your a kitesurfer the next week is going to be epic...come and join us...from what i can see wind all week....this is the best Hurricane season so far..because theres none......let's hope it continues and every Low depression,T.D,T.S and Hurricane stays well away from as all...as it's been so far....keep doing it....

Afternoon all,
Well Erika is a wierd one..yes,no,yes,no...hope it stays just rain(not too much) and winds under 25 miles an hour,that would suit everyone i imagine.
Margarita island today has Blue skies,wind 20 knots easterly and it's going to be a great day..the forecast looks very promising for us Kitesurfers in the next days...there will be alot of happy campers on the beach today..i may even go Kitesurfing today myself...although i need to brush of this small hangover i picked up for sacraficial purposes of the wind that we did last night..it almost everytime works.......

Morning All, Sunny and very calm here,already 30 degrees at 8 am,well it's going to be one of those days again,hot,calm,hot,calm.Will swim longer today just to stay out of the sun....
I was surprised to see Erika was moving slightly south i was expecting her to be much further north when i got on line this morning......she really dosen't know where she is going...lets hope she stays as thunderstorms and burns out to the north....

Hi there,
Well we are in the middle of our typical calm spell from Erika.I was in the city Porlomar today and it was unbearably hot,nipping into which ever shop just to catch some air con for a few minutes this is normal for us down south from strong weather systems passing by they suck our trade wind away and leave us stranded on the beach...sad kitesurfers everywhere.TD Erika which is as i have seen....a big girl indeed and getting bigger...i hope she heads North more and stays away from all you guy's up there.

Hi there, My names Murray and i am writing in from the Island of Margarita.Were the lucky ones tucked away close to our mainland Venezuela.I follow StormCarib and you guy's all the time with your really helpful forecasts and presentcasts which help me alot to work out whats going on...Need more updates from Trinidad and Tabago though they get our weather first...would be good to know whats close and far..
Hurricane Ivan was the first destructive Hurricane margarita island has seen in many,many yrs..way before internet,unfortunately i wasn't on line then...so my Beach office front was washed away and lost many things due to storm surge...We just don't get that here...very seldom ...We are all kitesurfers and windsurfers and i own my own school here on the island and are really grateful for any weather updates that may effect us...I will keep you posted on our weather..
